In a recent interview with gamespot at pax, Luke Smith didn't know the answer to this question which in itself is perplexing.... Anyone have the answer??
EDIT 1: Still no definite answer... Bungie care to respond?? PLEASE BUMP SO WE CAN BE HEARD!
EDIT 2: so far we know FORSURE
1. LIGHT LEVEL
2. *nothing confirmed*
Edit 3: STAT VALUES - I think this is it!
Example 1- my warlocks best stats = 585
Iron bread hood / intellect +67
Discipline +59
Claws of Ahamkara / dis +58
Strgth +68
Dead light wrap / Intel +85
Dis +89
Deathsingers herold / dis +159
Add those stats up and you will get a number. The higher the number the more stat value you have.... Highest gets to hold flag is all same light level .... Please tell me if this makes sense.... I have tested it and it works!

2 RepliesHighest light level. If all are at the same level it's random.
-
Let me know what you guys think
-
Penis length.. They don't care for girth Always worries me when females hold the relic
-
Bungie please respond
-
2 RepliesRNG, I earned my flag
-
If your in a full fireteam and all the same level then fireteam leader holds the flag
-
It's level first. If you have a full team of Max levels I believe it's KD In that particular game mode. For example, I play clash the most and will usually hold the flag but while In control/skirmish I hold it a lot less often. Just my thought
-
Not sure. All I know is that I'm the banner/flag bearer a lot with my Hunter.
-
1 ReplyI'm guessing the k.d or grimoire or maybe just maybe how cool your character looks :p
-
Light level+ medal score
-
1 ReplyI personally think it's crucible medal score. I know it's not grimoire based because i have gone into games with a full fire team, had the highest grim score of the team and was not flal holder. SO I think it's crucible medal score based.

8 RepliesEdited by Smacktivate: 9/1/2015 5:01:20 AMI was told it was based on your Intellect, Discipline and Strength. If you have someone 100% int, 100% discipline and 40% strength, they will get chosen over the person with 100/90/30. Apparently my friend has tested this and it works. Edit: this would also explain why it's always higher level characters holding it. Because higher level gear tends to have higher intellect, discipline, and strength.

1 ReplyI thought it was the player whose system was hosting peer to peer. Dont remember where I heard/read that.
-
1 ReplyI tested this a few times and found out l that: I don't think it could be grim score, but it could be how much stuff you have equipped that is maxed, in this case, I had a higher grim score than my friend, but I had one 331 weapon equipped whilst he had all maxed weapons, resulting in him holding the flag, but when I switched the weapon for a maxed gun, I held the flag. I believe it could be a mixture of grim score and maxed items equipped at the time. I could be very wrong though just sayin'.
-
1 ReplyI speculate it's related to Grimoire score. Mine is 3525 however my kd is pretty lousy. Usually if I see some else in crucible with the banner I feel lol our team has a fighting chance. If I'm holding the banner I try to give it my best shot.

1 Replyperformance in last game I always thought
-
Hmm, I'm not sure. Though there has been times when I was flag bearer 11 games in a row. Same with my friends.
-
Light level, Amount of points accumulated/ k/d in previous game?
-
5 RepliesLight level and grimoire score I believe.
-
highest lvl. or if multiple ppl r 34 then random between the 34s
-
1 ReplyThe guy who will do the best maybe that's why I'm holding the flag all the time
-
Idk but I'm always flag bearer...I used to think it would be the person with the best connection chosen as fireteam leader and the fireteam leader becomes flag bearer?
-
Grimoire is not a factor, previous round score is not a factor, k/d is not a factor. I'd personally say it was chosen randomly from the highest light level entrants.
-
Light level, then I believe highest kd from the previous match holds it when all in same level.
-
I feel like it is light level and whoever has been that level for longest i could be wrong however.
-
Obviously the guy that will carry their team.
