No Raid When TTK Launches
Folks, Luke Smith just announced with IGN that King's Fall will not be available when TTK launches and they'll announce when at a later date!
What are your thoughts?
Edit 1: The announcement is made in the last three minutes of the video.
Edit 2: Such great dialogue regarding the announcement as we trend in less than two hours! Thank you Guardians!
Edit 3: Bungie had tweeted the new raid, King's Fall, is completed and will launch on the heels of TTK.
Edit 4: King's Fall, the new raid in TTK, launches 9/18 at 10am PST.

Make sure you cash in all bounties before launch. You don't want to rank up to soon buddy. 2. Turn in all daily event packages before launch. Refer to 1. 3. When you complete a story or quest, quit before you get the rewards! Twice the content if you ask me. 4. Delete those focused lights you've been gathering up! Don't be a sweaty try hard. Send those codes to my gamertag. I will dispose of them for you. 5. Delete all of your characters and start over!Can you imagine the fun you will have completing everything again with the new ghost voice. Holy crap! The game time you will put in. 6. Delete your exotics, if not your characters! Chase the rabbit FOREVER!! OMGUUUD. 7. Make sure you only use year one weapons! Can you imagine taking 3 hours to complete one Quest. Uber fun bro! 8. 4 RepliesI think it was necessary to delay the King's Fall raid as IT IS The End Game content. There are hardcore destiny players who would've pulled out all nighters in order to reach level 40 light level 200+ to play the raid Week One. After beating the raid the only thing left to do is grind and grind and grind recycled content. At least we have something to look forward to in a few weeks after TTK launches. After the raid drops, it'll take less than a week for us to get bored and go back on the grind. Just watch after Kings Fall is released there will be many forum complaints about the taken king lacking enough content.

Only reason i was going to buy it was for the raid and new exotic weapons couldnt care less about the other stuff... remember when HoW had a raid then they dumped that piece of shit PoE on us.... fun times... hopefully they dont try charge money again when they say its not ready

4 RepliesI'll be pissed if I can't raid the day TTK comes out. Raiding is all I care about in this game. The story missions.. The strikes.. Who gives a shit. Their filler. They aren't that fun and the story line is so -blam!-ed that you just want to kill shit and forget what your even doing. That stuff can be completed within 8-10 hours. After that. You'll want to raid. .. We bought content again, that we aren't getting.. What other game company pulls this shit? If its delayed.. watch, after a month if its still not out. They'll charge us for it.

It gives the gamers some time to see what the new content is about and get a feel for the new weapons, allows them to experiment with new loadouts. We're buying access to their software when we buy a game like Destiny. They'll release things when they decide it's appropriate to release things. This is how Bungie has operated over the past year, and it looks like how they'll continue to operate. I don't understand why people get mad. This was 100% expected, yet they're over here acting like Bungie put a gun to their head and forced them to buy the game.

Gives people time to level up, gear up, and find a new favourite weapon set for tackling the raid as soon as it opens. Crota's End, available on patch day, was widely criticised for coming out "too early". The early birds tackled it, published strategies via streams or forums, and the vast majority of groups later on in the week who had been gearing up used these strategies and steamrolled it in 1 sitting. Then they complained it was too easy, despite doing none of the strategising. Bungie doesn't want that to happen again.

Seeing as we all will start between 170 and 190 on the 15th, they are giving us an opportunity to reach lvl 40 and increase our light level since the normal raid will open at light level 260-280. This will give us time to find the guns that we like with good perks on them and build them up. Remember it will take more than one gun or armor piece to increase the overall light of that weapon or armor to your desired strength. That being said, I do not think they want to repeat Crota's End (Super easy) or VOG normal (Where everyone was under leveled and it took 4x as long to beat). If the raid is as large as they claim it will be, we will need to be equal if not more powerful than the recommended light level (if possible) to avoid extremely long attempts with little to no progress. Let me know your thoughts.

It's a good thing. It prevents people who are not serious about being the first team to finish it from finding ways to cheese it. Anyone who cares wouldn't be in there until they were max level and fully prepared anyway.

Its smart I will hopefully be able to complete the story on all 3 characters before it comes out and maybe stock up on some new legendary stuff. I'm not trying to go in there with some low ass level shit and get extremely frustrated. I'm good on that I'm glad tgeyre not releasing it day one.

While veterans and hardcore players will have no trouble completing the story and getting to 40 in the first week, using the Light Level as a gear score system now allows Bungie to keep the carrot out there a little longer. They can't hold it back for too long, because Kings Fall is really going to be the most talked about activity and the most obvious barometer of the development teams progress in designing endgame activities. They are changing so much with the Weekly Heroic playlist, the Nightfall, the Weekly Crucible bounties, and extended quests that there will be plenty to do in the first couple of weeks without having to worry about the raid as well.

VoG wasn't available on day 1. Hard Crota wasn't available for a long time either. They can't just give you everything unlocked right away. They're trying to make the DLC last. It's smarter that way. No one needs to feel like they gotta stay awake for 72 hours to hit max level and complete everything available in TTK. Take your time and enjoy it. Play the game how they want you to. :p
