Yesterday I got this item from an exotic engram.
Quickly leveled it up and gave this beatle gear a try. I ended up being quite disappointed.
PvP:
- The stealth for gunslinger is nice to have because I missed it on my GS. Stealth + golden gun is pretty good too.
- The lingering damage from Khepri's takes roughly 60% of someones health or shield. Not enough to kill after getting a melee hit.
- It's not hard to be seen in stealth. To make use of the 4x damage you would have to find a way to get behind the target.
Sneaking past them will most likely not work because they can still see and hear you.I doubt that this perk will be used often.
There are too many requirements that are too hard to meet to proc the 4x damage.
-The backstab hitbox seems to be very small. Even when it looks like a backstab, it doesn't always deal 4x damage.
PvE:
-Again, good for stealth reviving if you want to run gunslinger instead of bladedancer.
-The backstab or double backstab with Escape Artist is not enough to kill a major or ultra. You might get their shield.
Overall:
-The comb: stealth, backstab & stealth from Escape Artist doesn't always work the way it should.
Sometimes it takes your melee energy without putting you in stealth again.
Even if you enter stealth again, you can still be seen in PvE unless you stand still for a second and then walk away.
It feels like the only use for this exotic item is to have stealth for gunslingers.
Thoughts?

My Bladedancer uses it and loves it. It allows her powerful rear attacks, and gives her the ability to combine hungering blade and stalker. Hungering Blade is a very useful ability, because combined with Escape Artist, it turns Blink Strike into a panic button second only to Fist of Panic. I think it's best if combined with a ferocious close-in weapon (like Invective). Come in invisible, do your melee to weaken the foe, and shred it with your weapon. I've taken down high-level Ogres with this tactic.

3 RepliesKhepris sting's invisibility is actually better than Stalker (3 secs stalker base, 6 with shadowjack, compared to 5 seconds KS base, 10 with SJ) and frees up encore or hungering blade!
-
1 ReplyI think it doesn't get enough love. On top of all the invis and backstab perks, it even has fast reload with primary guns. That's freakin sweet in my opinion
-
I named my beetle Sheldon. Sheldon keeps me safe.
-
Extremely
-
Beautiful in PVP imo. But only small game types like skirmish, elimination or trials. I enjoy have invisibility on top of GG perks
-
Marginal at best, out shined by other bladedancer exotics for both pve and pvp, invis as a gunslinger is nice but not game changing since one needs all invisibility perks to truly maximize effectiveness
-
1 ReplyIt's alright as a bladedancer in pve, can put that crouching invis perk on something else.
-
1 ReplyIt's good for soloing stuff with hunter, cuz invisibility on gunslinger, Burn really doesn't do anything, backstab does a lot of damage, but it's kind of hard to get a backstab cuz you need to be invisible to do it
-
1 ReplyI use it for Crota hard so I can go invis and regen health with hungering blade. Other than that, it's more of a fun exotic to use, especially when brawler is active.
-
Was about to use Foh and got sting'd.
-
1 ReplyIt's good for getting the 10 melee kills in iron boner
-
2 RepliesTry using the special perk on a Shank, you end up poisoning yourself. You don't take damage but you get the burning effect.
-
Every exotic has a use. Have more than 1 doesn't happen.
-
1 ReplyStats wise it is amazing. Looks like garbo though.
-
2 RepliesI hope it makes a return in year 2 so I can use it with night stalker and be a ninja
-
3 RepliesFor a second I read how useful is Stephen King.
-
I ran it full time when I PVP'd on my gunslinger. Got far more out of it than I ever did acly sym.
-
7 RepliesGood especially for IB bounty.
-
I've only used it like 1 time.
-
2 RepliesI love it and use it all the time. The only time I really put it on my gunslinger is PoE for the diffusing mines. I usually use it with the blade dancer so that I don't have to chose the invisibility perk. It frees up that spot for the health regen perk. I don't use backstab. I run with faster melee recharge skill so I guess if I can get the damage bonus from that, it's gravy. It's one of the only four exotic armpit pieces I use with my hunter and I have them all. Symbiotic helm pvp Nighthawk pvp Raspberry both Sting both. I like it because it's so versatile not because it does any one super thing
-
2 RepliesYou are forgetting a phenomenal perk. Increased reload speed for PRIMARY weapons. I haven't seen any other armor giving this perk.
-
5 RepliesIt's gonna be the ultimate tool for a Nightstalker Ninja IF it gets upgraded to Year2.
-
1 ReplyI use them regularly on both consoles. I like the faster reload for primary and being invisible to pickup people in PoE
-
Very under rated. You can build a perfect bladedancer for PVE and PVP at the same time!
-
4 RepliesVery situational. High learning curve. Watch you tube videos for tips and tricks. Less useful on pve offensively. Good tactical exotic in pve. Pvp, lmfao you can troll so many kinderguardians.
