Titan melee should have a range buff. At the moment titans have the worst melee in the game. The Perks are incredibly lack luster and are just worse than other classes. Defender titans get a shield upon a kill with a melee and have to be incredibly close to actually get a melee hit, whereas sunsingers warlocks just have to get a hit. Striker titans get bonus damage that is completely useless in pvp.
Before someone brings up shoulder charge I'm going to explain why it's not op. First of all you need a run up and then have to find an enemy with in the time it's active, secondly it is incredibly easy to counter with a Shotgun to the face.
I personally think titans need a buff for there melee but if you disagree explain why.
Edit: this is more focused on the pvp capabilities of titan melee
Edit 2: people are saying titan melee is faster, can anyone link me some proof of that?

Edited by Scruffy: 9/4/2015 12:22:48 AMYa They need a buff

I tested Warlock versus titan. It was more than double the distance.
-
Needs nerf. Those T-Rex arms have too much reach.
-
I feel like the range should stay but they should do the most damage and have higher base melee attack speed.
-
3 RepliesYour already a blaming titian you don't need anything else
-
6 RepliesHow would fists get more range? Plus your melee's faster.

1 ReplyDude I mean its a punch

2 RepliesCan you punch seven feet?

7 RepliesWarlock melee needs more range.

8 RepliesHow about no.
-
6 RepliesIt's a melee its not supposed to have a lot of range
-
3 RepliesTitans only post? Haha the bias here is ridiculous. I run all three, I couldn't care less, the sun titan looks like it'll destroy the others in terms of aggression, zone control and damage output. Cmon guys put it into perspective.
-
1 ReplyIf they were to buff the range they would need to take away any extra melee speed.
-
1 ReplyNo. Because the titan is already going to be the most op class. Don't try to overdo it.

Welcome to Destiny where Titans are the fastest and have the weakest melee, Warlock the tankiest with the best melee, and Hunter the dominant PvP class

17 RepliesI main Titan and love them to pieces but I disagree. The Titan melee are for 2 situations. Before I get into that. It's no lie that defender is more for pve while striker is more for pvp. The 2 situations As a defender: it would make sense to get a shield after kill because you need to be prepared for the first fight. The 2nd fight is the one that you need protection for because your health is much lower than it once was. Defender is to support the team while trying to make you and everyone else unkillable. Such as with WoD and the Titan melee force barrier. Also the BASE Titan melee is actually pretty strong. Melees are normally given as a last resort, therefore giving a shield after said last resort is a good idea. As a striker: as I said before, this subclass is more preferred to pvp than the defender, but play However you like. Also as I said, Titan BASE melee is pretty powerful already. Storm fist is probably the strongest melee because not only can I punch someone to death in 1 HIT, that's right, but it gives perks and exotic armor to increase its melee effectiveness exponentially(such as no backup plans for defenders to increase force barrier duration). Striker Titans have 2 perks that I use that are very useful. 1 is the AoE perk for the melee, which emits a small wave of lightning in all directions whenever you hit someone with stormfist. The wave deals damage equal to the melee, not less (like how we thought), equal! If there are 2 enemies right next to each other, then you can kill 2 guardians with 1 punch. The next is transfusion. It gives health regen every storm fist and shoulder charge kill. Not only do u 1 shot them but you regen back the damage they just did to quickly move on the the next opponent. It's a shorter range for a reason guys.

No. They are known to have T. rex arms.

7 RepliesOr, a damage buff.

Edited by Malikor: 9/3/2015 10:17:11 PMI'm no mlg pvper or anything but I've played enough of it to know that titans get the shaft a lot on their abilities. I've gotten killed by titan melee far less than any other class and I think it's because of the lack of range on it. Shoulder charge helps but it is situational and requires sprinting first. Storm fist and shoulder charge should probably be combined, but make the melee do comparable damage compared to other melees and make the perk increase it if you were sprinting when you used it. That way we have some more range but it isn't too op.
-
6 RepliesWe have shoulder charge. Warlocks have a ranged melee. And hunters have a throwing knife. Seems okay as is to me
-
Don't you understand it's impossible. The titan genetic code has been spliced with baby t Rex dna
-
2 RepliesEdited by Gladius: 9/3/2015 10:08:05 PMshoulder charge would be fine IF: It had no aim assist/homing. You should need to aim it. If it used your melee charge so you couldnt spam it. But yeah the base melee can derp a lot and it will lunge you at people but then somehow not connect letting them just punch you; its weird. Edit: Also OP said its not op because it can be countered with shotguns easily. Shotguns are very OP, try using a fusion rifle or a side arm and tell me how that works out for stopping someone who has a homing instakill they can use like every 10 seconds.
-
I disagree because every time I actually connect a blow with an enemy they die. If I had extended range it would be unfair
-
I don't know about range buff but should have the perk from the warlock skill tree where it you get the melee hit you get a oversheild, and if warlocks get a kill from a melee then they get a over shield.
-
For the new titan subclass, what would've been cool is to throw the hammer like a throwing knife for melee. If the enemy is close then you just punch them.
