#Destinyideashop: A place to submit ideas to the devs for improving Destiny

Currently we have the #communitywishlist tag for things we would like to see added to Destiny. I thought it would be cool to also have a place for people to submit ideas on how to make those things happen. To that end, I am creating a new tag #destinyideashop. to have a place to group them together for the devs to see. The community wish list is a great place to list ideas like sparrow races for example. What I envision for #Destinyideashop is a place where someone can take that idea and submit a way to actually implement sparrow races in-game, be it menu set-up, actual course design, race structure (laps, #of participants, rules), etc. Have an idea for a new weapon or armor type? Post your design. Have an idea for a new community space in the Tower or Reef? Post it for us to read or see. Have a suggestion for how LFG could be integrated? Let us know how you'd do it. This should be a sub-forum for Guardians to be able to help build worlds, even if it's just by planting seeds. I am not looking for ideas listed in this thread, though I do appreciate them. I am looking to see your threads tagged #Destinyideashop and look forward to seeing what you all can come up with.

  •
- adequate Vault storage - optional match making - sparrow races - king of the hill - earning items when you hit specific rank instead of "rng" - only certain enemies and bosses have a chance to drop specific items - Xur to sell everything he already does, minus any exotic, plus his own exclusive gear, plus every engram type every week - somehow making exotics rare... - more natural sounds (nature) - natural storm/ weather occurances (Venus intense thunder lightning rain, mars sand storms and mini tornados, earth snow storms and blizzards, moon LESS GRAVITY) - 6 man patrol - wild life - cut scenes - more puzzles and challenges - bosses who are not predictable monotonous bullet sponges - bosses/enemies dropping items instead of them just popping up on screen - in game grimoire library - some personality for your guardian - ghost skins - all PvP game modes available all the time, except trials and iron banner - leveling up your guardian through tasks and items, instead of ranking up gear over and over again (are you saying my guardian ain't shit without his gear??) - weapons and armor should just have unlockable perks, not ranking them up over and over again - clan customizable ships sparrow shader and emblem - a little bit of blood - having the option to change your Guardians looks and race one time - NO INVISIBLE WALLS - fix the bouncy bullshit where you bounce off everything like a pinball - different types of strikes. Stealth tower defense assassination etc... - Double usage for the d-pad. Tap for hotkeys , hold for emotes. OR hold a direction on the d pad (left) to open an emote selection (like dark souls) choose, and tap (left) button to use... Freeing up three other buttons with double usage capabilities - restore auto rifles to launch capabilities - remove material purchase from the tower, and restore it back to turning in materials for faction Rep - make natural deposits and patrol chest have between 10 and 20 plus materials, and contain a higher drop rate for legendaries and even exotics, consumables and currencies etc.. - POE is kind of getting boring already.. The weapons are terrible, the armor looks amazing and has some cool perks, but some of the perks are not working. Also, the perks effective from or against enemies, should work anywhere in the game and not just in the prison of elders. - weapon shaders - custom and private matches, maybe a little bit of forge mode. I would like to explore some of the PvP areas - evolving armor - Crafting/creating gear - OPTION to pre and post game talk with opposing team - proximity chat in patrol - proximity chat in tower - speak commands to npc's - raise glimmer cap - raise mark cap - option for auto aim assist - purchasable armor materials - grimoire unlocks - patrol friendly/unfriendly mode (kinda like gta 5) - refund - rep ANY faction, and wear ANY class item. I'm sick and tired of wearing the fwc bond!!! But I want to rep fwc.. I have earned it. - time stamps on grimoire. How much time it took and when.. - half the perks in this game do not work, AND MAKE UNFLINCHING ACTUALLY WORK - after making a purchase, your guardian should say something like "I'll take that", or some communication with the vendor, or talking about what you just purchased - open up the city from the tower. buy a house and let you furnish it however you like - buff necrochasm - varied difficulty for patrols - ghost abilities and skill tree - theater mode - more PvP game modes - more weapon types like Smgs and bows etc. - variations of PvP game modes where everyone uses the same weapons, like halo or gow3 - There should be an "Enemy Invasion" random roll in Destiny. Where you'd be playing in the crucible and then the announcer would come in and say to everyone "The enemy arrives. Work together guardians" and the team separation would disappear and everyone would have to try and stop the massive enemy incursion. It wouldn't happen all the time but once in a while and it would be epic - Skip button for cutscenes - reroll (vendor) legendary armor - be able to trade in radiant materials for glimmer or motes of light - Much more Horrific/Dangerous patrol (something intense and scary) - Switching armor stats/perks to the other one (Transmogrification) - presets/loadouts - Rotating player supers in crucible - Super PVE buff - Assassinations - World Bosses that are not predictable - Different Character Beginnings - Much bigger open worlds - Old Chicago, Eastern Flood Zone, European Dead Zone and Europa explorable areas - Switch between guardian voices - Charlamagne's Vault - Different weather - Ask vendors/AI for answers - Enemy fortresses/ Camps - More ferocious enemies that match your level and other players around you - Destroy enemy ships and loot their items - the EARNED ability to wear all exotics in PvE. And a game mode in PvP - a place in the tower/outpost where you can meet to put teams together for raids, PoE, etc.. - class items should have an elemental damage shield for your armor, making you more resistant to the other two elements. - an actual open world, instead of a pretend linear open world. - trading - being able to inspect another players vault and all of their items in their inventory - remove rolling weapons, and bungie weapon creators, become creative. It takes away from what the weapon is and what it does and its individuality. You may as well remove the name and just give it some generic name that all the other weapons have. - buff dragons breath . Larger, longer lasting, homing like axion grenade, solar flares. - readily accessible in-game maps - excitement and celebration when you rank up. Like 1-20. Everything after was a joke - THERE SHOULD BE A MEDAL ANNOUNCER LIKE UNREAL TOURNAMENT AND HALO!!! - sneak up behind an enemy and hold melee for an execution - dismantle items from postmaster - control your ship in orbit, maybe even actually fly or have the option to fast travel to the planet's/locations
• I've always thought that our community managers should utilize polls on major topics of interest to the community. Example: Making a poll on endgame matchmaking to see if the community wants it or not and if so, bring it to the Devs as a community wish list. Again, I feel that our community managers could do so much more.

      • I would like to see a Practice Sandbox area where you can use all the weapons to see how they react and get the feel for them and this goes for the Relic/Sword also as i have come across a few players who refuse to use or can't use the Relic or Sword and this pisses of players a lot and iv seen players kicked, i know its a big responsibility and know one likes to keep playing hours on the game because someone in the team doesn't know how to operate the buttons or time Sword hits on Crota and i believe a Practice area would help a Lot. There are other games out there which offer this type of in game tuition, why not this one as well.

        - Remove invisible walls - implement grimoire into the game - Fix the rng, add earnable items, and make Xur relevant for vets. - Remove exotics SALES (yeh, so exotic) make most items earnable Xur to sell exclusive gear and truly special items - Xur selling things you can only get from him Xur to continue to sell exotic engrams for strange coins Change up Xurs location: tower, outpost, and various caves/locations accessible by patrol - make Xur special and fun - sparrow races - more natural sounds (nature) - natural storm/ weather occurances (Venus intense thunder lightning rain, mars sand storms and mini tornados, earth snow storms and blizzards, moon LESS GRAVITY) - 6 man patrol - wild life - swimming (come on, there's water everywhere) - sea life/creatures - interact with dragons on Venus #ahamkaraconfirmed

        • Sols stepping it up for the rest of us. -Optional Matchmaking or in game LFG. -Bigger scale public events, it's a public event. Those bosses should be impossible to beat with out others. Give legendary engrams as a reward for 1 completion a day. -VoG and Crota should have a "master" level difficulty. Say level 40 just keep them relevant. -address the community on the issues with lag. Some kid accused me last night of cheating. Said he was gonna get me banned and if I wasn't cheating that I shouldn't play. Sick of kids crying over losing like it's a life event.

          • Since you guys HATE the idea of matchmaking, why not add a "add friend" option to the R3 settings? I can add friends in-game, it's an easy fix. I don't have a keypad and have to literally go into my message/notifications and pump in every name I want to add, regardless of the fact that they probably won't add me randomly anyway.

          • In-game LFG via the Tower and Reef. Remember how in Red Dead Redemption you could lose track of time just playing Poker with the NPCs? This is the type of stuff Guardians could do while in the Tower and hoping to find people who want to do certain activities. In fact, because multiple Tower lobbies are used, why not organize them and let players choose what type of Tower crowd they'd like to be surrounded by? Default Tower lobbies would be as they are now, just people turning stuff in or doing their own thing. But while hovering over the Tower, give us an option to join an "Activity Lobby" if you will, with a variety of categories. The Tower can give us the option to start/join Nightfall, Strike, Raid and regular Crucible Fireteams. As for the Reef? Offer the same options, except that'll be for Trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders. These activities require fewer Guardians, so the 7-player deficit wouldn't be too much of an issue. And when you join one of these Activity Lobbies, you can select or enter a few characters to appear over your Guardian, such as "Will Join Any Raid Team" or "First-Time Raider." When player(s) are interested, the option to send a Fireteam invite for said activity will appear when you interact with one another, as it does now.

Remove exotics from crucible. Balance issues fixed. Your welcome. I would go so far and say revamp multiplayer to have basic loadouts like halo rather than bringing in pve weapons to pvp. Thats a rpg rookie mistake. Just like light levels. But i feel thats too late for destiny 1.

            • Wild Life Encounters. This would be cool way to make each planet a little more unique, or more unique. Whatever. Imagine you are on your sparrow going to the forgotten shore. The path there is a few turns. Then, a pack of corrupted wolves ambush you. No notifications, no heads up. Even your ghost is surprised. These wolves are mutated by the darkness, like the taken, but maybe a few more things, like 2 heads, or twice the size. Actually, include that. That would be great. Don't just make them ambush you. Make them attack enemies as well. More action and stuff. There are very few mentions of animals in Destiny. I don't know if the ahamkaras count. Hell I don't know what they look like. But it would be nice to not only put animals in Destiny, it would give them a purpose. I think.

            • Rework infusion process. Infusion shouldn't be tied to weak guns. Infusion should go both ways. Same with armor. Like, sure you can feed a weak gun a beefy gun but it should a bigger boost than what was shown in the stream. You should be able to feed a strong gun a weaker gun and vise versa. The same applies to armor. This way your not trashing a gun or armor piece with good perks if you can't get the exact gun/armor with the same perks all the time by rngesus. This would make me and hopefully everyone else who is very low on weapon parts and armor materials and the like feel more at ease with this new process that is tied to year 2 armor and weapons. This suggestion would not only reduce grind time. It keeps up with people who don't have much time to grind and have irl stuff to do so there not all like "ok, I got a good roll and my armor is super strong, but I can't find anything stronger than it so I can feed it ._. Time for more grinding :D oh wait...I got work tomorrow..."

Going to repost this here, as I think it fits since I tried to explain or rationalize each idea: Vital changes: -Get rid of/fix lag issues in multiplayer (never been much of a fan, but it really keeps me away hearing that people intentionally use lag to cheat), perhaps easier said than done. Popular suggestion is having Bungie maintain mp servers but... -Largest possible team for patrol mode: 6 man or greater parties for patrol mode. Would allow for more fun since playing in separate fire teams while in the same chat gets a bit awkward. Sad I can't play with my Raid buddies together in anything but a raid... -Optional matchmaking for EVERYTHING! Who cares if you don't do well, at least people will have the opportunity to try! Make it optional, or perhaps just have it fill in the gaps of an existing party? --Bring Year 1 weapons into Year 2! As you are set to create weapons foundries, I would suggest giving the old weapons that aren't associated with the 3 foundries shown for TTK their own foundry set ups. Some of the exotics will obviously be rogues that won't/shouldn't fit (like Thorn or Bad JuJu) while others already fit in nicely (Suros Regime and Hard Light). Etheric Light is already hard to come by for legendaries, so I would suggest sticking with that system or a similar one fitting into TTK so that people are still pushed to try the new weapons but aren't absolutely forced to give up all of their old favorites forever. Maybe set up the mechanic to only allow upgrades after TTK campaign is finished? By this, I mean that whatever currency/item you need to upgrade Year 1 weapons would only be acquirable after you finish the last campaign strike/mission of TTK. -On that note, stabilize the economy for Etheric Light. This might be "too little, too late" in case you really are throwing all old weapons out the window, but I hope you realize that's a bad idea for a game that has focused so heavily on grinding for random loot drops. If you do keep an upgrade system of some sort going forward (which again, would probably be the smart thing to do), I hope it fits in better than the current etheric light system (which makes upgrading legendaries more difficult than upgrading exotics). -Maybe expand some of the current locations and find a new system for keeping players in the game space that is more immersive (Idea: remove all hard invisible walls and keep a countdown system, but give it some context. Maybe it is the countdown until enemy ships spot you and fly in to investigate? It would be cool to add in some sort of believable reason for why we can't explore beyond certain territories in each playable area. Maybe the guardians can only keep these few areas on each planet accessible, and you can add territory in DLC, claiming that the guardians have secured more territory.) -LOCATION MAPS: the ability to call up some sort of map via ghost menu or something. Especially vital if you add more territories to existing playable spaces. I'd suggest a prompt on ghost HUD that allows separate map to be opened, with new prompts for mission/quest indicators and even enemy presence/concentration overlays (might let people know it is likely that a public event is about to go down). -Remove currency caps (I know the time-based caps are being removed, but the amount cap is still in effect. Is it really necessary?) Recommended changes/additions: -Themed ghost shells/artifacts/other new item types added as loot for existing raids/PoE: I can only imagine how sweet a ghost shell from the vault of glass would look (glass-like, translucent and opalescent, with sharp angular design accents reminiscent of the vault itself), or a creepy Crota's End shell that looks more organic with the skeletal motifs of the hive. I don't know much about the artifact items but they seem like on-paper-only type stat boosts. I've heard of revisions to earlier strikes being added but not raids and nothing hinting at new loot for existing challenges. I think it would be a cool and would keep the content fresh. -Unrestricted exotic usage: let us be truly legendary! With the growing number of exotics, I think we should be able to attain the ability to wear a full suit of the most powerful armor in the game. Maybe only in PvE, maybe only in certain multiplayer modes (like the new mp mode with increased super charging), or another stipulation. Just wish it were possible. -The suggestion of weapon shaders sounds cool and all but wouldn't a separate shader system for that and possibly other items start to crowd the gear interface? I suggest simply applying the armor shader to all gear (all weapons, sparrow, maybe even ships?) -A social space within the Last City, accessed directly or via the Tower. Larger shopping space with focus on aesthetic changes and story elements. This could benefit expansion of factions as a story element as well. Imagine that, as factions gain power and expand influence with humans(and friends) becoming bolder from continued (perceived) success, the vanguard takes precautions by pushing all non-essential personnel and services out of the tower in an attempt to keep guardians from being too influenced by seemingly petty interests. All of the new kiosks would stick around and make more sense since the vanguard is obviously trying to limit civilian influence in guardian affairs. Functionally, the accessible city area would be an effective extension of the old Tower social space, compensating for the (hopeful) growth of the game's story, items, and economy and representative as an evolution of the game overall. Maybe there could be statues erected in honor of the guardians slaying Atheon and Crota, capturing Skolas, recovering shards of the traveler and so on and so forth. New commemorations could mark each expansion to the game. -What if there was a mixed PvE/PvP mode? Such as a situation where location specific enemies could bust in on a PvP map during a match. It would really through a new dynamic into the game. It might not sit well with those more strictly interested in PvP, but maybe it could be a separate match type? Not exactly sure how/if it could be worked out but...maybe? -Sparrow races! They just make sense. They teach guardians how to effectively use their sparrow while also being a sweet way to compete less directly. Would fit well into the Crucible system. I would suggest starting out with a race course on each of the playable worlds. Another possible way is as a time-trial style race on the actual existing map areas under the guise of a mapping scan. As long as you don't get off the speeder and make it to each checkpoint on time, you succeed. Perhaps you could even be rewarded based on how low your time is? (As I casually reference a revision to the basic structure of the current fetch quests. They need to change though. This is just one way to improve.) -Gear perks concerning glimmer: I would recommend attaching passive discount perks for glimmer prices to armor. For weapons you could add perks that passively increase the amount of glimmer earned for taking down certain enemy types. -Tweak Xur. Don't think he should sell weapons so straightforward. Limit his inventory to exotic engrams for each gear slot (or a rotation of fewer) so there is still an element of chance and suspense. He could also stabilize the in game economy concerning Etheric Light, as he has with exotic shards, as they are incredibly rare for something that simply updates old legendaries.

Accidentally posted with out finishing. Bare with me. With the new Weapon Smith system for banshee 44 I would like the ability to do the same with armor. Going to use Titan VoG Helmet as an example because it really is one of my favorite pieces in terms of looks. So Armor Smith would be located in the main part of the tower opposite of banshee-44. You could take the Armor piece to the Smith and upgrade it in two areas, increase defensive rating and modify the stats (Light, Intel, Str, Disp). You could then upgrade defense to a different amount depending on how much you want to spend. Each tier or level would increase in cost until cap. Defensive Rating would be upgraded with class armor (Plasteel, Sapphire Wire, Hadronic Essence) and also Glimmer. As far as Stats go (Light, Intel, Str, Disp) you would have a set amount of points per tier. These stats would require some sort of collectible item like a shard or crystal in order to upgrade. You can choose the amount of stats of any category within each tier level. These shards or crystals could be acquired by material farming, opening chests, doing VIP patrols, certain Yellow Bar enemies, and story missions on heroic setting once per week. So that item you like can come with you, but for a cost. Let me know what you think. #destinyideashop

--INGAME LFG!!!!! This game is meant to be "Social." So why is the social aspect so restrictive? Add an ingame lfg or even chat forums at the very least so the community is connected in some way in the game. --more vehicle gameplay. --more dynamic interactions between enemies, npcs, and guardians on Patrols. Make it feel more full of life. Allow enemies to change spawn or have a different enemy invade a location and attempt to take it over--such as Cabal invading Fallen on Mothyards. This can be further expanded with vehicles for enemies. THIS COULD BE EPIC! --Give enemies a weapons kit and abilities kit to choose from when they spawn to add variety in gameplay. Also, expand on their move sets and interactions. Thrall leaping over objects and climbing walls? Shanks that can actually fly? --Expand on the grind with bosses: Give them more abilities/move sets to play off of so each instance maybe different than the last. ------------->Here is a post on this: https://www.bungie.net/sr/Forum/Post/120850955/0/0 --implement Community Gear Ideas into the game and give credit to the designer. Could have bi-weekly competitions for this. --Improve on use of D-Pad. Put in Radial menus that can be mapped out by the player. Hold up button and it opens up many options. ------------------>Example of Radial menus: http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/405420-mass-effect-xbox-360-screenshot-switching- weapons-and-powers.jpg --To further expand on the D-Pad, switch the UP button as a form for communication. Example: Hold UP, click on "Waypoint." An arrow will pop up on your fireteam's screen. Can go further and do a simple animation such as the guardian pointing forward. -------------->Other Communication ideas: "Help!". "Fall back!" "Focus Boss" "Get in vehicle"....if we had more vehicles lol. --Also expanding on the D-Pad, implement preset builds with subclasses and gear to allow for quick changes on the run.

Also, two of those maps were in the vanilla/ beta anyway, why are we losing content? Please add them to the current playlists rotation or give them their own.
