And they were fantastic! They were not ungrateful and thanked us the whole way. We explained some helpful strategies and a few dos and donts and they were very appreciative. I wish more people were like them. We got them through normal mode and asked them if they wanted to give Hard Mode a try. They said sure but we might die alot :(. We told them not to worry and that we would stick it out and get them through their very first Hard Mode as well and with a little hiccup here and there we got them through it and again they were very grateful of this. We added them as friends and told them we would be more than happy to get them some poe runs in as well when the time came and they got some better gear. I was very glad to have met them and had a blast helping a pair of fellow guardians do something they've never done :).
Edit: Glad to have so many friendly guardians reply here. Helping fellow guardians is something we should all do so everyone enjoys the Destiny world :D
Edit 2: Wow alot of replies already :) glad to see more guardians helping others as well and also Bungie for commenting on the good we bring.
Edit 3: Since quite a few have asked I am on Xbox One :)
Edit 4: Had some guys get their first VoG hard completion today :D

Always glad to see Guardians helping other Guardians. Keep it up.
-
You should help me out! Nobody really plays this that I know, and I have yet to complete any raids on hard..
-
Nice. It always makes it a lot more exciting when people are awesome.

you are a very good sir.....theres a lot of people that are just joining now a days it seems like....i can tell by there grimore and level. For instance a whole fireteam were all new so i asked and they said that they were. So i was a fine gent(female of course) and said "Welcome to Destiny"

After reading this post the other day I realised the only way I was going to get through raids was to just grow a pair and ask. So I asked this guy in the tower, he instantly invites me to join his fireteam with one other lad in it and we head for crotas. I didn't want to ask their ages because I didn't want to offend them but they sounded young. (A fair bit younger to myself anyway not that I minded) They left out no details as they took me through, taught me some tips and tricks, chests and what not to do. We finished crota and I thanked them both individually more than once. Couldn't have been more grateful. They said we would try VOG sometime soon and then we played some crucible. I'll be playing with these lads again for sure. Guys like you helping guys like us.....I salute you sir.
*slow clap*
People like you make the game enjoyable to people like me. Good work!

I remember helping a couple of guys do Skolas for their Triumphs and they both of them were very happy and grateful. You have some kids who just leave the party immediately but I haven't seen that a lot. In game community is mainly awesome.
-
Bump, I usually need help find raiding parties also. you guys are awesome!!!!
-
I know you're probably hearing this alot haha. But I really think it's very righteous of you guys to be participating in the kind minority of people willing to help out and teach the less experienced members of this community. I tried doing hard crota twice today and was only met toxicity and rage quits. No one really offering to teach me anything, also attributing to my fear of asking questions due to the nasty things they said. The first several hours of -blam!- jokes and a guy's d*ck pic in my inbox later, everyone rage quit. Another day wasted for my moments of triumph... A reminder that makes me really makes me appreciate people like you that I've come to know...
-
thats awesome! i love helping others beat the raids for the first time or even Skolas. Some of my best moments in Destiny.
-
Way to go Guardian... My group has helped others with both Crota and VOG. Unfortunately because of time I am not able to help with Skolas much.
-
Too bad game has no content
-
This! This is what Destiny should be to all those negative guardians out there.
-
We are guardians, we help our fellow guardians!
-
Been helping people every since I learned the raids and endgame content
-

Thanks for sharing about your experience! The Destiny Community is one of the most friendly I have seen in a game for quite awhile.
-
This happened to me too, a group of strangers took me through crota they were very patient, we are now friends in fact 52 out 55 friends I've made through destiny. It pays to treat people well, I've had far more good experiences than bad with this community.

Did this about a month ago. The New guy was very nice to play with, took well to direction, and had a lot of fun getting through both Crota and vault raids. He is now in my friends list and play every once in a while together. However, when we meet him, he was with a squeaker who constantly died in the raid, then blasted his computer speakers into the microphone...Super glad we could pull this adult new player away from the squeaker and show him how real men play Destiny.
-
I respected you until you said that you play on xbox one then I lost all respect for you. Shame on you.
-
Did the same just a few minutes ago. One got Gjallerhorn and one got BH.
-
did the same thing today and a few days ago
-
As a small token and to award your giving spirit, PM me if you would like a red bull code.
-
If the people being helped were more like these folks were, I think we'd have more people who didn't mind doing it.

Edited by OrionNeb04: 8/29/2015 11:54:09 AMLet's remember everybody has to run a raid for the first time, some are lucky to have friends to call on but others are not. For me, helping out first time raiders is one of the best feelings in the game, it also helps me remember my first times, and I will continue to help as long as there are people who want to play.
