Did anyone notice Deej saying the community acting like " shareholders " was that a snide remark at the community ?

Yes it was and it was deserved. We pay for the right to PLAY the game. Not to dictate how it changes or what we get. They created it therefore they can change whatever they want. We have the right to give our feedback just like they have the right to completely ignore it.
-
Bullshit. We're fans and players and we make the game viable. Without us there is no game. They should be kissing our asses
-
That is exactly the kind of attitude I am talking about. You are under the impression that because you bought the game it means you get to dictate its direction. You don't.
-
Well ,we kind of do. Or, by not trying to keep players happy, they lose players. I understand your point, but I also agree with op
-
No we don't. We have the right to give FEEDBACK but we don't get to dictate. If our desires and preferences fit within the confines of the original direction of the game then yes there is no issues. However if our feedback goes against the spirit or intended direction of the game then they are under NO obligation to change it. It's their intellectual property to do with as they please. They would be SMART to listen to us, but they would have to be insane in order to allow the gamers to make decisions.

You're right but that's one of the problems. If I could opt out of year two - not upgrade - I would without hesitation. I wish Destiny was a product, flawed as it is. At least then, I'd give it to my daughter and she'd get enjoyment out of what's been accomplished to date. But since it is a service and not a product where each change undermines my (albeit) limited ownership, they can eat as much feedback as we want to give em. And even that, they do a really crappy job with.

That's not at all what he meant....

Edited by Coyote_x_Starrk: 8/27/2015 11:00:45 PMThats not what he meant but that is how it works. We don;t get to make demands and they certainly are not required to check with us before making changes.

Edited by theREALliveguy: 8/27/2015 11:02:16 PMHow is that a snide remark? That's exactly what the players are AND how investing works when it comes to putting money into a product. Investors/Shareholders want to know whats going on with their invested money, and they want to hear the real deal in laymen terms. Not a bunch of corporate speak. But it's one thing to say....and another to do.
-
We kinda are with $100 invested per share. lol I agree with Deej though. Some people take it so seriously.
-
But it's kind of true...judging by the forums, the community feels entitled to A LOT.
-
It's not a snide remark at all being called a shareholder. We have invested time and money into this game and as such we have certain expectations that we the players expect to be done.

He kept it real though and I didn't find it offensive
