On Cortana, out of nowhere, the only dead ODST on that level too, he is in a tunnel at the end of the mission, with a flame thrower next to him.
Do you think when Halo: ODST comes out this will show him (The Rookie) dying there??
I think it might be him, why else would Bungie just place a dead ODST there??
If you don't know ehere this is I will have to get some pics up.

They've planned on it for a very long time. If you look back far enough you can see two Bungie employees wearing Superintendent t-shirts, this is before Halo 2 I think. I'll go find it
Posted by: Hylebos They already announced that there won't be any flood in the game. It takes place really only in that city. A nice theory, but sadly busted.
shoop da woop!

hmm lets see.. if a group of odsts were sent to clear the place out and they all died and the rest of the group became infected?
Posted by: Hylebos They already announced that there won't be any flood in the game. It takes place really only in that city. A nice theory, but sadly busted.
But what if it shows him dying in a CINEMATIC??????

I know what you are talking about but I'm not sure.
Posted by: Dr HyperSpartaX Maybe because of the abandoned Pelican laying there and the parasites has killed the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper while on Duty.
This. I'm sure it was just there to explain why the Pelican was there for your escape. How the ODST from the ruins of New Mombasa makes it to the edge of the galaxy in High Charity seems unlikely. But in the trailer for ODST you can see his fingers, check the ODST in High Charity to see if his fingers are visible and theeeeere's your answer. Peace out.

I think it is supposed to be a nostalgia moment. Remember when you are playing the Library from the original Halo and there is a random marine near the end of the level. I think this is something similar. In the book, it describes how the chief thought this guy was a badass marine to make it that far. Perhaps Bungie put the odst in Cortana just like they have put many other original halo moments in the game.
-
Maybe?

yes thats going to be the last level of the game and remember on the level "the ark" in halo 3??Well the odst is going to team up with the chief but the only difference is that ur going to help the chief.

I think it might've been a prisoner on High Charity before the infestation, and he tried to escape. By the way, did you know the flamethrower he has is fueled by pure win? That thing owns. Kinda like Johnson's laser. EDIT: All your second page are belong to me. [Edited on 04.20.2009 8:13 PM PDT]
Posted by: paddys117 Wow, could be but it's not because halo 3 was made before ODST was, so it can't be.
Nobody knows how long Bungie has planned on ODST, since the brutes are in the trailer, meaning that they could have put him there on purpose.

I thought the same thing Op.

possibly o_O

Nice shteal from CI buddy...

No what i mean is that ODST was not even thought of while making halo 3 so i doubt that it can be the marine.
Posted by: OZZI 1337
Posted by: paddys117 Wow, could be but it's not because halo 3 was made before ODST was, so it can't be.
False. The thing is though, He just got there. Notice how everything else in the whole game is decayed in the whole level except for his body. So he must have gotten there just not much longer than you have. [Edited on 04.20.2009 4:56 PM PDT]
Posted by: paddys117 Wow, could be but it's not because halo 3 was made before ODST was, so it can't be.
But Bungie most likely knew they would make a campaign extension featuring an ODST BEFORE Halo 3 was even released, they had this all planned to fall into place.
-
doubt it because the ODST game timeline is when MC leaves earth to delta halo, and when MC comes back in beginning of Halo 3. For ODST to make it there in the high charity he'd have to get a ride, jump to earth then the portal somehow, then high charity would crash on the ARK...that is a lot of gameplay....like twice as much like playing both Halo2 and Halo3 at once.

I'm not so sure they'd plan that far ahead for the NEXT game/expansion, too busy creating Halo 3 at the time.
-
There's dead ODST's and Marines scattered around every level.
