love it or hate it...i bet a large portion of people on here have put well more than 500 + hours on this game..now go back and try and calculate the hours you have played on all your other games combined in the last couple of years...guarantee Destiny still comes out on top..

Terrible assumption. Not true in most cases. I played more Borderlands 2. It was clearly a better all around value.
-
This is pretty much spot on. You'll get the randos who say no way I've put 5000 hours into *insert generic mmo that has been out for years* but realistically most people have tons of hours and even if it's not the most of any game, they obviously enjoy playing.
-
ive been proven wrong by many of the posts on here...but my point was that thousands of people are salivating over every single detail of this game...and if you add all the time playing, posting, reading and watching videos about this game...the numbers are huge..ive been playing video games since Arcade in the 80's... and i can say i've never seen this type of exposure for a video game...NEVER...i mean i have been playing video games longer than most of the people on these forums have been alive...so i can say to them that the hype for this game is real...whether you hate it or love it...you are logging on and playing... and pouring hundreds of hours reading about this game and posting about it...and watching videos on how to play this game...though most will not admit it

Sage words

Maybe for the casual gamer. I come from MMOs and the 600hrs+ I out in the game before Christmas last year, isn't anything close to my MMO play times.
-
calculate how much of those 500 hours were spent doing the SAME SHIT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER, all in the name of trying to get something out of the RNG. Trying to act like destiny is this great experience because of that is so lame and disgusting.
-
Nope. I have calculated and the Souls games win.
-
It was definitly worth the money i spent. i have played many games and even tho this game is not perfect, it is still a great game and is awsome platform for rhe franchise

Edited by ATotalScrewBall: 8/28/2015 10:43:02 AMFor some maybe but not for me. Not when Destiny is put up against Fallout series (PC+360), Masseffect series, Battlefield Bad Company, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 and 4. Can wait until 00:01 on the Nov 10th as I'll be picking up my Pit-boy addition of Fallout 4.
all your other games combined in the last couple of years...guarantee Destiny still comes out on top..
HA! I've admittedly played destiny for over 100 hours. I don't know the exact number at the moment (and don't care to check), but I'll say it's 150 hours, though I'd wager it's lower. Meanwhile, I've had Payday 2 since November of last year and I've played it for 166 hours. Skyrim also since November and played it for 127 hours, though that's just on Steam. I put well over 400 hours into vanilla Skyrim on the 360. Played Dying Light for like 3 weeks and put 47 hours into it. Bought Shadow of Mordor a few months ago and put 46 hours into it. Hotline Miami 2 came out earlier this year and I put 30 hours into it. Along with 15 hours playing the original game, which I purchased during the last Steam holiday sale. And that's just counting games I've played AND purchased in the last year. Which is the same timeframe I've had to play Destiny. If you count the other games that I've played this past year but owned for long than that... the number dwarfs the time I've played Destiny by literally thousands of hours. I mean, I've had Diablo 3 since it was released back in 2012 and I've put at least 100 hours into it in the last two MONTHS. My overall time played for that game is over 1300 hours. I also logged another 100 hours into the Stalker series this year, because some new mods were released that made me play through them again, even though I've had the games for like 5 years. No... most definitely does not come out on top. Even if I had put 500 hours into it. lol

buddy youve got nearly 300

3800-3900 in CIv V. Fallout 3 ~600 - 3 characters for all three endings. GTAV on PC is increasing quickly... Have a decent amount of hours in Desitny, not the most by a long shot. My world does not revolve around it. Got tired of the slot machine. Some of the changes make it seem like there is more to it. Still not sure. For every update, it seems to take one step in the right direction, but then seems to take 2 backward. The weekly update, I need to think some more about what they have in there, not really sure if it is good or bad yet. There isn't a cap on merits, but how you earn them is somewhat limited compared to how you can now, so in a way, they are limited, just not strictly.

How is fallout? I keep hearing it that's a pretty sweet game.
-
Wait till fallout 4

If you want an fps with a story and things to do, its for you. Gun play is not great. Vats is your friend. One thing to remember is there is a five roll that determines of you hit. Graphics are not great either. It was made with an old engine. What is cool is pick a direction, there is tons to explore and do. Can pick up game of year version for cheap.

thanks!
-
Fallout is awesome
-
thanks!
-
I had over 400 days played in World of Warcraft over 6+ years. Destiny is probably second or third, depending of League of Legends.
-
That is freakin awesome!
-
It feels really, REALLY sad, looking back, haha. Of 6ish years, I spent a little over ONE OF THEM in a game! :O
-
hey as long as you enjoy it and you have fun playing it why not right? i mean the reason why i posted what i posted is because i have never seen such a strong following to one game...i joined 3 clans since last September and even made 100's of new friends in the process...old and young! its the first time i really can say that even with its flaws i will follow this game until the end...i counted my Skyrim hours and since what 2011 its still not even close...
-
*coughcough*pc games make up 1200 of my hours *cough cough*
