I'm not certain if you are being serious - but this is illegal.
If you attempt to go around taxes, this usually doesn't end well. For a single game, this isn't usually a big concern, but one should not be giving illegal advice openly, and expect anyone to heed it.
Giving fake legal advice? That's cute. Taxes are paid at the point of sale. The only further charges that can incure are shipping and handling and any trade fees the country you are shiping to has, which will also be charged when you mail the item.
Considering I've done it many times, I don't need to dispute with you. I know it's legal. Saying it's illegal to buy and trade is the most irrational thing I've ever heard.
Oh, then I found the miscommunication. I never said one could not buy and trade. The premise was to have someone else buy and ship. If this was done by a customer in the US, and then sent as a gift, there is nothing wrong. If the person in AUS gave money to person in US with the intention of purchasing and shipping (without proper paper trail/ taxes), this is the illegal.
I have no issues with trading private property, as the taxes are taken at point of sale (as you pointed out). The problem here is that either someone is giving money away (nothing illegal), or the poster was implying that there were 2 sales - one from the customer in US buying the game, and the other was the customer in AUS buying from customer in US.
If taxes were paid on second transaction - no harm, no foul.
lol! No worries. Tell your wife I said thank you. I hope we can help everyone receive an equal price on this game (regardless of the actual amount/value).
Yeah, I wasn't even getting into that. Anyone who would suggest this, may not be aware of regional settings. I'm not sure why people like that respond.
