So Using Thorn/TLW/Hawkmoon Is Cheap, But....
... using the Messenger/Hopscotch Pilgrim and blink-shotgunning isn't? lolololol
Crazy quick TTK, laser beam stability, infinite range, Headseeker so you can afford to be inaccurate..... When they nerf the Hand Cannons, if they don't fix these, the next meta will be High Impact Pulse Rifles 100%
Basically, my point is this:
[i]Don't bitch about the exotic Hand Cannons when you're using a weapon that will two-burst someone from across the map with laser-beam stability before they have a proper amount of time to react combined with a shot package shotgun.[/i]
(Bit of a rant, but the hypocrisy is actually ridiculous)

It's not cheap. I challenge anyone of these whiners to show me legitimate proof of official statement/letter saying that using these weapons are considered cheap, unfair or scrub like. To me it's all fair game until bungie post something official saying thorn/tlw/insert gun you get killed by and want to cry about makes you a cheap scrub player. Otherwise the complainers are just salty crybabies. Honestly have these guys gone up against a 6 man team of thorns in ib? My team has and we demolished them. Get some gun skill and outshoot the other team. Stop making excuses.

In all fairness tho. I used auto rifles before it was a thing, i use shotguns whenever i feel like it. I snipe. Ill use pulse rifles and hand cannons... ill -blam!-ing use anything against anyone and shit on kids... guns dont make the skills

They should make those shotguns primaries. Kids literally run with it soon as the game starts. Never put it down. Never run out of ammo. I wouldnt really care if the range wasnt as ridiculous on em

15 RepliesHoly shit, when you die in crucible it is simply because you got outgunned and the other player was better for that single kill! People like to manifest their deficiencies into the gear, saying the normal crap of "Thorn is for try hards, I only use skilled weapons" when in reality they suck and allowed the other player to land multiple headshots on them instead of getting evasive and not letting that person do that. 2nd: A weapon isn't "skilled", the player is. Attributing skill to a weapon is so freaking-mind-numbingly-stupid that I won't even address that. 3rd: Specific to Thorn, majority of the players that trash it got to the crucible portion and quit because they didn't want to put any effort into it. They just wanted it handed to them. The greatest irony of Thorn is that the bounty itself makes the player SO much better at cruicible, which in turn makes them so much more deadlier with Thorn. It's like handing a trained sniper a sniper rifle instead of a pistol. The sniper will still be good with the pistol but will be supremely amazing with the rifle.

I say the same thing. I feel Hopscotch Pilgrim is one of the best guns in this game right now ... It took me awhile to get it ... & it was actually worth it. I said for the longest I'd never grind strikes, nothing's worth it ... I was very wrong. That gun was my sidekick in iron banner this week, it's unreal ...... reactive reload + outlaw w. Some reload gauntlets ....? it's absolutely insane. The things a 2 burst machine ... & w. Reactive reload, if a pinch of their health is taken, it's a one burst...51 per bullet w. Reactive reload. it's brutal. shits just not fair dude. After I started using hopscotch I don't even feel as if last word / thorn are as good, that's just personal opinion though. I really annihilate w. The roll on mine. & I'm just sick of using hand cannons. Hopefully 2.0 will be great though !! bring some weapon variety into the crucible. I just wanna be able to use Vex & Suros again. Vex was in such a sweet spot right as trials first opened up...it was great in my opinion. Hard to use unless you could predict where the enemy would be strafing towards, but murderous if you could work w. That bullet travel time...ever since they reapplied that fusion rifle nerf that apparently never went through w. Whatever patch it was first implemented in, it's been horse shit. the beams just dance around their damn domes ... we'll see what happens! Soon enough. September 8th brother, September 8th...will hopefully be the end of this disgusting meta.

4 Repliesstatistically speaking, the thorn and last word both have a faster ttk than any high damage pulse rifle, but i get your point. those pulse rifles just shut down those hand cannons at range, and nothing really competes with those hand cannons at short to mid range since auto rifles got nerfed into the dirt. but the pulse rifles dominated at straight up mid range.

3 RepliesI am wondering if its worth the frustration of getting 200 marks on my titan alt of rep tokens in TTK.... Atm i dont think so.. i tryed to use a pulse rifle from VOG and it just sucked ass.... and i kind off refuse going LW because everyone else is allready.

pulse rifle only if you camp with them... hawkmoon shouldnt be in the same category as TLW and thorn.... and blink shotgun and sniper camp is the worst of all

I like to run with NLB or VoC lately with either a shotty or plan c for defense against rush/shotgunners. Works just fine. You know what kills quicker then TLW/Thorn? One bullet from NLB

Hawkmoon actually is harder to use than any of the other HC's. It's a high risk high reward type of gun.

4 RepliesGotta say it man but it's the maps that favour shotguns ! Thorn is broken but getting fixed but enclosed maps mean shotguns are the best loadout. If bungie made large maps like combined arms available in control mode all weapons become viable. It would negate the nerf, buff, nerf, buff ongoing saga. The vast majority of weapons are fine its the map layout that needs addressed.

I miss the days of the autorifle had a chance to fight back against it. Hope that with patch 2.0 all TTK is increased to over 1 second. Just for sake of argument I run mida and shotgun but most of my kills in a match are with primary. Only have the shotty for when I am on a control point or when someone rushes or flanks me
