I doubt that thr Ahamkara have a weakness to silver or a certain type of material.
Sure, it might say that the silver in the gloves blocks out hearing hallucinations, but that doesn't block out the Ahamkara's "Oh Bearer Mine."
They might be trying to trick us into using swords if they can easily kill people who come close, and I don't think that they really are going to have a weakness to metal. Maybe something like an energy because only warlocks were able to defeat them, but it's just a thought.

I wouldn't say it is a weakness that hurts the ahamkara. I think the properties of silver blocks the wavelength of energy that is released from the bones. I do however think it doesn't fully block it. Silver is a special metal that forms mostly as a refinement of other metals. It could be this refinement has special properties. It could also be silver that was refined from gold(one of the metals silver can come from). Gold is special as it is literally stardust. The only known way that gold is naturally made is during a cataclysmic event called a gamma-ray burst. This happens when stars die and collide with each other. The only known one to be witnessed produced an amount of gold estimated to the size of ten moons.
