Like putting a rubber band over the analog stick and whatnot?
I'm trying to farm public events for grimoire. I was AFK on the rooftop, and picked my controller up as soon as an even popped up, but get kicked for inactivity a second later.
Grimoire farming was easy, until Public Events.
Help?

Go out to orbit then take out ur battery for controller! I'll get a message pop-up and it'll keep u there! 👌

7 RepliesFeel free to be AFK while on Patrol, but if you dare go AFK in a Heroic Strike....

Pretty sure you have to actually participate in the even, no matter how little, there are a few sites that track public events though so you don't have to sit and randomly wait.
-
You need at least 1 kill for you to count as as participant
-
Be active.

1 ReplyActually playing the game helps a lot.

Can you afk a public event? I think you gotta put at least one bullet into an enemy to get credit for participating.

Edited by JarodColdbreak: 8/25/2015 1:07:26 AMJust go to websites that tell you when public events start. Then you can rush from one event to another event and you rarely ever have enough downtime to get disconnected for inactivity. the only times that ever happens to me is when I am REALLY inactive. Like having to feed my daughter and not having hands free to do stuff with my controller etc etc. I used to farm public events for hours when I tried to get enough Vanguard marks to buy gear to get my light level up, before I had enough Destiny friends to go raiding with.

Put a band over the analog stick to test it once. Still got booted for inaction

There is a way and its called being active. Scrub.

5 RepliesYes. Easiest method that works for me is to make sure I'm making unique actions on my controller at all times. I achieve this with my fingers and hands. It works wonders, I haven't been kicked for inactivity yet using this method.

Edited by Mishiee: 8/24/2015 10:23:05 PM-Don't go afk -Use destinypublicevents.com -Wait 1-5mins for the event to spawn -Only wait for target kill or spider walker, as they can be completed in 30 seconds and allow you to move onto the next event quicker.
-
No because you get kicked for a reason
-
Have you tried unplugging it... ...and then plugging it back in again?

Rubber band the controller
-
just keep the controller nearby and move a stick every so often. i used to farm public events for ascendant mats that way, i'd just watch the tracker sites, pick a spot, hang out until it popped, moved on to the next spot and i'd hang out until that one popped, rinse and repeat. i'd usually watch TV or read a book and wait for that controller rumble, lol.

1 ReplyDownload a destiny timer app. It will give you times of public events and where they will be appearing. It's not always 100% accurate but it beats just sitting in one spot waiting for a pub to spawn.

Rubber band both analog sticks

Yeah play the bloody game

You have to rubber band both analog sticks together so you get movement on both.
