Name and shaming is personal harrasment.
Personal harrasment is against the rules on the forum and in real life.
When you made this account you agreed with the rules.
You follow them.
If you do not agree with them then dont use the forum.
Edit :
For the people too stupid to know what i'm talking about.
Naming and shaming is noting names of "cheaters" in a game.
Lag happens.
If you write them down for everyone to see, you are naming and shaming said players.
Insulting is not "naming and shaming"
Edit :
Reply by Recon number 54, a forum ninja, explaining why this is a rule.

Actually, no.
While forum posts and videos SEEM like a great way to help with cheaters.... other than raising awareness, they don't do much to help get rid of them. Mostly due to the fact that a video is what a player saw on their console, which (sadly) isn't always a complete picture of what happened in the game and on the network (one console in a MP match is not the full story). A forum post and/or a video will NOT get anyone banned from the game. Ever. The people who investigate cheating, exploits and network shenanigans aren't cruising the forums, they won't see the thread/vid, and it's not how they collect their data.
Bungie takes reports and game bans VERY seriously, and so they carefully research those reports against their server logs for actual shenanigans (cheating/exploits). If those reports and the investigation bear fruit, the cheaters will be dealt with. But things like making a vid, creating a topic, and/or naming them here serves no purpose and has no benefit. If you have used the in-game report tool, then you've done your part. And thank you for doing so.

3 RepliesQuestion for the ninja... Does the report button even work? How many times does someone need to be reported in order for bungie to review their games? Ive seen some sad stories on youtube about people who bully on destiny, one of them being a team of 5 telling a 'squeaker' that the only way theyll let him play with them is for him to grab a knife and carve squeaker into his arm. These people are still here today. Reports will not do anything. They are too inconvenient to use and no one cares for them. Figure it out, how many reports do you have coming in per day? Take that number and compare it to the total amount of destiny players. I promise you this game is NOT that non toxic, especially since people can report however much they want.

3 Repliesbapao I missed you. is off topic boring now or are you just baiting people?
ily favorite shitposter c:
This, in response to conspiracy theorists that believe Bungie is silencing bad PR. Many of those posts are guilty of naming and shaming, hence why they're hidden.

Bump for awareness

11 RepliesI get that it's a forum rule, but it's a stupid -blam!-ing forum rule. That's like having a child molester in a neighborhood with a lot of children, but not being able to say anything cause it might get them in trouble. Anyone who is against the rule is a blind little mouse or a cheater themselves.
I love when people try to defend this policy though, like you're defending the douche bag who had to cheat at a video game? Get those pussy out of the game
3 RepliesBungie dont have a clue how to ban anyone, Not untill bungie comes out with numbers that shows how many that have been banned, then i will start to belive that bungie will do something against the obviuse cheating that this game have and always had since ToO.
Did bungie tell ya what to write?
1 ReplyThe only real reason for someone to take the time and make such a pointless thread is if he himself was "named and shamed" on the forums for whatever reason. Due to this, he turned into a forum lurker who doesn't even read posts, he just finds people who say "bad words" and report them. They're on every forum.

1 ReplyPersonally I like knowing who is a cheater so when i run into them I don't play them if I remember the name. I look at it as a form of community service and I applaud anyone who posts it. In my opinion nothing is wrong with it as long as there is proof. Don't just say person x is a cheater just because you lost.
