Nope. People don't usually play with mics with matchmaking. Could you imagine the chaotic situations that would be going on with things like the relics? People can't even play weekly heroic strikes right. Don't bring raids into this.

It should be optional because I have no friends on xbox one they are still on the 360....

[b]this game needs matchmaking for everything[/b] because it's a pain to even get a game going , one has to waste countless hours with various forums spamming , discrimination based on gear/grimoire/light levels is strong in the community , not even speaking about people who kick others right before the rewards SOLUTION: add matchmaking as a option HOW? : simply add it into the game settings to turn matchmaking ON/OFF. if there is a pretty useless option to wear a helmet in the tower there , why isnt a matchmaking option available for those who need it ? i had to add over 500 random people to my friendlist which i mostly met during the initial game where i added em only and never saw em again, for each person i added i had to spend between 5-30 minutes forums spamming and waiting , if i take a generous average of 10 minutes per player im at [b]83 wasted hours only to overcome bad game design[/b] in terms of matchmaking and thats a joke considering the game had a 500M $ budget [b] here's my experience with this current "brilliant" destiny matchmaking[/b]. 1.) start destiny 2.) decide to play something that doesnt have matchmaking 3.) look at my friendlist which has always about 100+ players online but i lost track who they are since i only added em for one game and they busy doing their own stuff 4.) go away from console to my laptop and spam forum threads , one post isnt enough because it gets lost after a minute in the depths of the thread 5.) go back to console to see if there are any friend requests 6.) if no friend requests , repeat steps 4 + 5 7.) if someone responds by just providing a nickname i have to write it down as its hard to memorize nicnames such as xxxSup3rPlayya5678xxx , the go back to enter it into my ps4 and send a friend request (often they already are in the game with another party by the time or not accepting my add because they already play) 8.) after 5-30 minutes depending on the luck i get enough friend requests , sometimes even more than is needed for the game , then i have to decide who to leave out which sucks for me as i hate doing that 9.) while playing with those random people i keep getting more firend requests for my old post from 30 minutes ago which i have to ignore , i hate doing that [b] Optional Matchmaking alternative:[/b] 1.) start destiny 2.) decide to play something , press matchmaking 3.) play with randoms

You need communication in raids. And you'll always get the AFKers and the ones that ruin the raids who grab the relic and jump off the cliff with it.

in game recruiting lobbies would be great :) I'm not so sure about random matchmaking, after raiding I understand how teamwork and practice play an important role

When I used to play weeklies I thought theyd be faster to complete alone than with randoms.. The classic rule is that you are basically alone with randoms. I dont even want to think how awful raids would be.

So instead of just going in with 4 or 5 good friends, we would HAVE to pick up and carry 1 or 2 random scrubs from matchmaking? Terrible idea.

Yes, but they should be easier, have less people, and give worse rewards. Wait. Strikes. I'm thinking of strikes

I'm at the point where I'm so bored of people asking for it that I think they should add the option for it. Then I'll grab my popcorn and watch the forums burn with all the complaints. When hard mode Crota first hit I spent 5 hours at Crota alone before we downed him. That was with 6 good players who were all communicating. I dread to think what it would've been like with a group of randoms who don't talk or don't have that kind of time. All things you can screen for when setting up your own group. It makes no difference to me as I would never, never, never, ever use matchmaking but anyone who has experience of raids will tell you that it's a bad idea.

For normal mode raids, optional matchmaking would be nice. But definitely not for hard mode!

It should be a choice to use the matchmaking just because sometimes you would rather be down some people than have useless boat anchor players

Maybe to qualify for the playlist you have to have beaten the raid a certain number of times?

Yes they should So people will learn their lesson and never use it

It'd be good as a choice, but then you run the risk of people dickin' around & doing nothing.

If you don't have friends then use LFG, boom problem solved.

Everyone is missing the optional bit, it can't hurt to have it as a choice.

They should make it easier to form a group in-game. Look at warframe. Warframe has a chat system that allows players to list exactly what they need and get a private response and invite them while in-game (they need to implement proper kicking from parties but that's another issue). That would solve a majority of destiny raiding issues.

No there wouldn't be communication lower levels could join also people who don't know what they're doing also what if you join in on somebody half way through the raid
