Good bye to all the toxic players
So I've been playing since beta, I have three characters all 34 if I put the armor on them for it. I've been through the highs, the lows, the buffs, the nerfs, vault of glass, crotas end, prison of elders. I still have my shadow price. Vision of confluence, G-Horn, the loot cave, I've seen it all. And let me say, I LOVE everything they are doing with the taken king. People are complaining that they are taking away our old weapons and armor, do you actually want to use the same weapons for the next ten years? You do realize that things change right? Why are you complaining that there are new weapons and items and activities out there to discover and obtain? They aren't just erasing all of your stuff, it will still be there, it just won't be the best stuff in the game any more. Which is what happens in every DLC/Expansion/sequel in the history of gaming.
So for all the people saying that this was a dumb move, or they aren't playing any more because they can't upgrade their fatebringer/G-Horn/Thorn, and attacking people for being ok with the changes, good bye and good riddance. You are part of the problem, not the solution. I hope you find fun some where else, but please stop poisoning this mostly great and helpful community.
Edit: for the people that don't get it, I agree it would be nice to have all of our things carry over, but in this type of game, that's the nature of it. Each time the game expands we will have to put our old toys away, and go out and get the new ones. Is it right, or going to make everyone happy? No, but that's the game design. I have no problem with people stating their opinions, but attacking people and claiming to boycott when everyone knows you won't is not going to solve anything at all.
Edit: if you get shut down by other people in another comment, I'm not acknowledging you unless you have something intelligent to say.

3 RepliesI would be fine with them removing the year 1 stuff from rng completely so that it can be upgraded but no longer received. That'd make a distinction between years for sure. For all those that are complaining about not having it all carry over...they could just have nothing carry.

Just because you agree with Bungie's direction and others don't doesn't make their posts toxic and yours not. Posts saying "good riddance" to people who have feedback or concerns are just as toxic.

I can't wait for the new weapons and leave behind my current ones. I'll be leaving for school on Monday and won't get to play for 5 weeks but when I get home for a week Ill be excited to play ttk

You are entitled to your opinion as is everyone. But having no overall plan for the evolution of destiny is harming it no end. Every player who stops playing is lost money for better quality expansions and more likely other cash grabbing methods and tricks will be employed. Yes, I know you can keep everyone happy. But not being honest and up front as bungie seem to insist on doing with thier customers is a sure fire way to lose them. TTK is the last chance of any redemption on bungies part for myself and many other players I know.

You can only equip one and they define the way your character plays (ESPECIALLY armor.) There is a HUGE difference between not letting us carry over legendaries and not letting us carry over exotics. In addition, Bungie SPECIFICALLY stated that the mistake of use releveling our exotics will not be repeated.... well... here we are. Not everyone of us is toxic, some of us just disagree with the structure of the DLC.

I get it man, that is legit and I am excited for new gear and weapons. I bet there's some great stuff and it sounds like collecting/acquiring them is going to be even better than year 1. I'll be with everyone else playing TK first day, ready to rock and excited to be there. I will admit, though, that I understand why people are upset- I am a bit disappointed myself that I won't be able to take some of the things I love (even though I don't know which yet.) Quitting and going crazy is over the top- this is how things go and games change and move on. But that nostalgia has a powerful pull... And is also a weapon of war. And let's be real: you're right- it's just the way it is, and there's no use bitching. We should be jacked about the new gear. I would just say to be tolerant- let the game speak for itself when it comes out. Calling people babies will just make things more dramatic and convoluted. Drama begets drama. And if you're preaching reason, practicing it is sort of a must. See you, space cowboy...

Just because players and forum posters annoy you doesn't mean the answer is GTFO. That will actually make this game worse in the long run. Just look at the legendary/exotic argument currently going on. The decision to leave Year 1 weapons at their current attack levels was not purely based on balancing the game. The Devs wanted new players and returning players that had not kept up with the game to be able to jump back in the action and not be at a severe disadvantage to the die hard players. Players leaving caused Bungie to try to appeal to new players and the disgruntled players that had already left in the process influencing their design decisions.

See, getting a gally took me 6 months I got it from a drop after beating Atheon on Hard. That was back in January. Hands down it is the best rocket launcher in the game. Now me personally it sucks it will be useless in the new content, but I'll get over it. The point is because of the lack of content and weapons/armor that is available, to have it all be useless within in a short period of time is a real kick in the balls. Never mind the grind you put in, but the time you put in waiting in orbit to get people to do a RAID or any of the other activities that don't have match making. The game design is horribly done in this game. I enjoy the game and have had a lot of fun, but had they put more time in effort in making more weapons and gear available to the player you wouldn't have so many complaints. This would mean more drops and more ways to level up. Instead we are handcuffed, not organically the way it should be, but because they feel one of set of armor to be rewarded for a RAID is reasonable. This is why people complain and don't want to their best weapons be useless. Its not like some of these players are noobs who just jumped on, there are players like myself who have put in hundreds of hours, never got a chance to use any of these weapons over a course of a year because we had to be blessed by God to get them. Then when we finally do get them this summer, they are useless in a month. To me that is nuts.

The only reason to put away old toys for new ones is because Bungie knows you will spend countless hours going after them. The grind is real. I'm no horse and I'm too smart to chase the carrot. Between Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Halo, there is fun elsewhere to be had. Other players may say "good riddance" but Bungie will miss our money. This game is not gaining in popularity, which does not bode well for Destiny 2 and the rest.

It's amazing to me how hostile people get because they disagree with someone else's opinion. One side says yay new weapons. The other side says boo can't have old weapons. Instead of normal conversation it's this "git gud scrub" bullsh*t. Guess what. No. I'm not happy VoC can't come with me. But it's ok. The exotics? Damn it I JUST got lord of wolves man. I would have liked to bring it along with me. If this was "destiny 2" than sure hit the reset button. But it's an expansion which I would think things would be added not subtracted. Just because that's how I feel does not mean I'm a whiny cry baby. I am simply saying what my damn opinion is. I already preordered the damn taken King and I'm gonna play the sh*t out of it. It looks great to be honest. But I still wish some old stuff coming with me. That's all. For Christ sake. -blam!- me for having an opinion.
