So I've been playing since beta, I have three characters all 34 if I put the armor on them for it. I've been through the highs, the lows, the buffs, the nerfs, vault of glass, crotas end, prison of elders. I still have my shadow price. Vision of confluence, G-Horn, the loot cave, I've seen it all. And let me say, I LOVE everything they are doing with the taken king. People are complaining that they are taking away our old weapons and armor, do you actually want to use the same weapons for the next ten years? You do realize that things change right? Why are you complaining that there are new weapons and items and activities out there to discover and obtain? They aren't just erasing all of your stuff, it will still be there, it just won't be the best stuff in the game any more. Which is what happens in every DLC/Expansion/sequel in the history of gaming.
So for all the people saying that this was a dumb move, or they aren't playing any more because they can't upgrade their fatebringer/G-Horn/Thorn, and attacking people for being ok with the changes, good bye and good riddance. You are part of the problem, not the solution. I hope you find fun some where else, but please stop poisoning this mostly great and helpful community.
Edit: for the people that don't get it, I agree it would be nice to have all of our things carry over, but in this type of game, that's the nature of it. Each time the game expands we will have to put our old toys away, and go out and get the new ones. Is it right, or going to make everyone happy? No, but that's the game design. I have no problem with people stating their opinions, but attacking people and claiming to boycott when everyone knows you won't is not going to solve anything at all.
Edit: if you get shut down by other people in another comment, I'm not acknowledging you unless you have something intelligent to say.
Edit: done answering the same questions/comments over and over
Edit: jeez guys, never expected this to get such a reaction. Thanks for all the replies, 90% of you have intelligently responded with why you agree/disagree with me, and I thank you for that. Keep up the great work!
Edit: over 500 replies? Crazy

Edited by Genetics518: 8/21/2015 7:14:52 PMPeople that quit because the gear they worked hard for is becoming null and void are toxic huh? Well you continue to be the exact type of player destiny needs. As a beta player you're completely aware of the strike and ridiculousness. The trials and tribulations and the very definition of a useless grind fest. So it is unconscionable that you would think that someone is toxic for having strong feelings about year one gear, or anyone who thinks a 40 dollar dlc should completely trump a full retail release. Edit:"strike" was supposed to read "strife"

My problem that TTK could fail After I do all the story, raid, strikes then that's were the grind comes in. I mean we want TTK to be awesome and this is Bungie Redemption. If they fail oh boyyyyyyyy people will leave quicker then a blink of a eye
-
Bump for an intelligent and mature view point. Good to see posts like this.
-
I know. The toxic players are finally gone. Praise the Lord
-

Thank you. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Your kd is toxic
-
So you are what they call a "desticle"
-
Lolll, the Thorn isn't getting an upgrade either?? Hahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahaagahahahahagagagahahahha, oh, man, that's too good.
-
I'm a little sad we'll lose some variety with dropping some year one exotics... They were fun... But its ok. I just hope year 2 will bring some new favourites!
-
I agree with what your saying. People need to remember that you can use everything you have obtained still. Ttk is merely put higher dps weapons into the game to compete in the raid and other higher teir end game activities. Plus all guns and armor still can be used in the crucible at their best effectiveness. I know I plan on using both the year 1 and year 2 weapons and armor because I can. On a side note I still have yet to get some of what are considered the best weapons and armor in game and I plan to still try to get them.
-
I completely agree, I love my found verdict and hezen vengeance but I let those go in dark bellow than I got sword breaker, then house of wolves dropped and I was happy, now I am a bit sad I can't use them but I get to use new gear and a different exotic besides gally

Well said!

Hello

You guys don't know the definition of a MMORPG. From WoW to Everquest all the raid high end gear eventually becomes obsolete because of the new "high end" content. What incentive do you have to raid if Gjhallahorn gets carried up until the end of the DLC for this game? Granted I barely got to experience the great Ghorn I see why they're making the decisions they are. It just comes with the territory of a MMORPG.
-
Your opinion. Some cant handle a opinion. Like i hate MIDA and they rage at me. Salty tears
-
Out with the old and in with the new; adapt and overcome guardians!
-
You have played a long time and guarantee you dont have all exotics etc How boring is it to get a collection only to dismantle it. Its our collection. We were told exotics grow with us. Or else why bother grinding the loot.
-
I know. Some people are just impossible to please
-
I love this post! Thank you!
-
Good bye. Keep calm and continue throwing money at your screen.

Not sure why so many people are upset about the weapons. I honestly can't wait to get all new weapons. And this is from someone who had to Xur gally. If this was any other shooter with the basic timeline of having an installation a year after its release, we would be doing the exact same thing. I'll most likely be grinding for things in phantom pain, Star Wars BF, the division. Closes thing this game has been is something like D3 I think
