This is not about Xûr, this is about the petitions to save year one exotics.
You didn't earn Gjallarhorn. You didn't earn most of your exotics. There are a select few which you DID EARN (listing below)
The ones you earned:
Bad Juju
Thorn
Pocket Infinity
Super Good Advice
Invective
Vex Mythoclast
Necrochasm
Lord of Wolves
Queenbreakers Bow
Dregs Promise
You earned those through bounties or through specific raids. These are the ones you earned.
You didn't earn any others. There's a reason why in the Destiny message/loot feed it says:
"Insert name here" has FOUND "insert exotic or legendary here"
You FIND these weapons through random drops and random chances. Not earning in any way.
To all of you whining about how you earned these weapons and won't bring them to Year Two need to get over yourselves. There's new things coming. Let go of the things you say you "earned" and move on to actually earn and find new weapons. No petitions to save the old ones, no anything.
Move on.

Edited by Brick2025: 8/26/2015 5:55:02 PMNo because even those that you get from bounties are still RNG

12 RepliesEdited by x_8-BitZombie_x: 8/21/2015 2:54:48 PMTo be honest this isn't about "earning" or "finding" or whatever other semantics you want to throw around; this is about the bold faced lie we were told when we first bought into Destiny. We were told that our characters and our gear would follow us through Bungie's ten year plan, that we would create an evolving relationship with our favorite weapons and armor; now that relationship is ending via text message with the only reasoning being that's not what Bungie "intended." The problem is that Bungie needs to learn to humble themselves and forget about their intentions; the utmost important priority of a developer should be user experience and any decision that adversely effects the user experience for the sake of developer expectations should be left on the cutting room floor. They need to learn to let people play the way they want because ultimately that's what makes a great game.

Edited by xYou Trippedx: 8/24/2015 10:14:25 PMI'll agree halfway. Technically yes nobody "earned" them as they were random drop chances. However no matter how you look at it, work, while very different for everybody, was still needed in some way to acquire said items. Now I know what you mean by try new items and move on but I disagree on their usage. It shouldn't be up to Bungie to decide what weapons we keep and what weapons we lose. The customer is always right and if you want happy customers you'll cater to them. I don't like being told (unless within reason) how to play a video game and I honestly don't want to play a game where I know my progress is going to be wiped and I'll have nothing to show for it. New items are always great, but leaving weapons people spent mindless amounts of time grinding for behind seems counter-intuitive to what Bungie's after. To make everyone happy they just need to allow old weapons to ascend and their'd be no argument. Edit:Sorry for wall of text lol. Tl;dr Bungie should allow old weapon ascension to make everyone happy.

You can't not earn something unless you join late or leech off of the others playing
-
1 ReplyI killed Atheon on hard basically SOLO to get it. It think I earned it.
-
I totally agree with this statement which is why I am annoyed that a few of the exotics I did earn that I really wanted to see in TTK are not being adjusted for year 2.
-
Earned or not earn. Either way its there. Some people want to keep them, some don't. At this point, there needs to be two different expansions so everyone can have it there way. Or everyone goes to burger king.
-
3 RepliesSo you can earn a Vex but not a Gjallarhorn? Explain that to me OP. I believe that if I put my time into doing a raid, NF, crucible, etc., then I did earn my reward regardless of what it was. I have earned all my exotics by putting time into the end game activities numerous times.
-
If you wanted to get real technical then all these weapons have some sort of RNG. Yoi getting the Exotic Bounty and Cipher are random, and getting Necro and Vex still require RNG.
-
I was expecting to hear the same old bullshit. "If you bought Gjallarhorn you didn't earn it!" but thankfully I was wrong. I agree, the only weapons anyone truly earned where the weapons you get from bounties.
-
Actually I found them in crucible.

3 RepliesINFINITE_xSCOPES has FOUND crux of crota

2 RepliesI just wanna say that the Necrochasm and Vex are debatable. For example, someone could join a raid group and then they kill the boss before you spawn, meaning that all that you did was watch. If you play the whole entire raid, however, it IS earning.
-
I've said it before, everyone earns everything they get in this game.
-
I GOT A GJALLARHORN
-
Yes finally, why do some many stupid people not realise this!?! They think they "earned" their gjally cuz they played some nightfalls and raids and it dropped for them. If bungie had set it so that depending on how well you play the better the rewards you get, then it'd be understandable, ok you got the final shot on the boss, here's your exotic! But no, that's not how rng works! Arggggghh!
-
So true
-
Ive been screaming this same thing forever!! You dont earn RNG weapons!!! End of story.
-
Agreed
-
2 RepliesUh you didnt earn it either little boy. Its just rng..............moron
-
2 Replieshonest question. dont you "find" the vex in VoG?
-
2 RepliesWell I was REWARDED my Gjallarhorn by RNGeesus
