I can't understand why people clapped their hands when they showed it.. my WEAPON vault space is already full.. and all my 3 pg's have got 8 or 9 weapons for each category (primary heavy) . I've already dismatled a lot of weapons because i had no space.. like
The stanger's rifle and so much more. With the launch of the taken king you've doubled the space.. but 72 slots aren't enough NOW! With TTK i couldn't imagine how many weapons i will dismantle just because there is a f*****ing limit! All my VOG and Crota's weapons are useless so i will dismantle it because you don't give me the chance of keeping them! Could someone make me change my idea please?? IS THIS THE REWARD FOR PLAYING DESTINY SINCE THE FIRST DAYS ???
Another little thing , the problem because i keep all this stuff it's because i don't know if they'll buff something or nerf it or what.. and bungie doesn't know it too! first we could keep our weapons to bring them, now not, in future maybe again.. decide what to do!!!

16 RepliesAt first I thought it was strange to have ram issues with something as simple as vault space, but after digging, I discovered that the Xbox 360 has a measly 512mb of RAM. To put that in perspective, that's 32 times less RAM than my computer, and minecraft STILL eats through most of it... but I digress. If we look at how many icons are on one page, we see that currently there are 74 icons on one page at maximum. First, keep in mind that while the system renders all these pretty little pictures, it also has to keep the game running in the background, which likely takes up a few hundred mb of ram by itself. That leaves maybe 1 or 2 hundred mb for the icons. Now, each picture is probably a mb or two, and I would guess that the gun's perk choices and unlocks and stats and everything that makes it uniquely your LDR or whatever is also kept in memory. That means that at BEST, each icon is worth 3-4mb of ram. Now remember that they were running into issues at more than 74 slots and you'll start to understand why. Put together, you have ~225 to 300mb (depending on exactly how memory intenstive each icon is) of ram taken up. When looked at this way, it makes perfect sense why we couldn't have unlimited vault space. The new page system alleviates the problem by allowing the biggest memory hogs (the pictures) to not all be rendered at the same time, reducing the size of each icon not currently on the screen to a matter of kilobytes. This probably only allows the vaults to be expanded to about 200 slots however, and that's approximately what we get in TTK (I think the exact number is something like 158 slots or something). Therefore I conclude that Bungie isn't trying to fool anyone, and that they legitimately ran into technical issues expanding vault space, which they are even now attempting to work around. Expect more vault space in the form of creative new solutions like the Collections in the future, rather than a simple increase in the number of slots you can use. Disclaimer: I have only been working with code for a couple years in high school, and have never made a AAA title or run into any sort of memory issues with my programming, so all my theorizing is simply guesswork based on how I think the code is structured. If anyone from Bungie is reading, it would be cool to know if it was the 360 or the PS3 that was the tougher nut to crack. TL;DR: technical blargh blargh, doesn't appear that Bungie's lying about the vault space limits or anything.

OPs Boss: "Good job son, I'm giving you a 50 cent raise" OP: "Screw you old man. I want a dollar. You greedy bastard" This is how you sound.

What episode of hoarders are you showcased on?
-
You need to chill no need to have more than 72 weapons don't be so entitled and act like a crybaby
-
This is kinda whiny and entitled... Be happy with double... The salt is real
-
Keep some good weapons for infusion
-
You'll only use a maximum or like 30 different weapons. Get rid of them. Seriously, guns overlap stat wise.
-
Doubled vault space and you still can't be even a little happy

3 RepliesYour dumb, quit
-
5 Repliesjust checked your vault you have 3-4 of some useless items. Your fault.

1 ReplyThe only things I plan on keeping 1 of once TTK drops, is my Raid weapons and year 1 exotics that don't get a year 2 bump. I'll keep them all in my vault as a virtual museum of once great gear. Since they won't get used much, I'll only need 1. So I'll delete the duplicates I have now, freeing up a good amount of space.

59 RepliesEdited by SlickDigby: 8/21/2015 2:28:02 PMyou absolute bell end.. I just checked your vault and you have duplicates of everything.. start using the app and stop -blam!-ing bleating on about vault space, you'd have enough if you'd bother to use an app to transfer weapons and not have 5 of everything.. http://destinytracker.com/destiny/vault/xbox/Ssim1 3 ice breakers 3 thuderlords 2 her benevolence 3 truths 2 light in the abyss 2 mythoclasts 3 radeghast fury????? 3 matador 64????? 2 party crasher +1???? 4 fate bringer 2 atheon epilogue 1 ash factory????? 3 sevant of askor??? 1 Pest control matrix there's you argument right there you absolute arse cheek. Edit: "I'm a 23 year old and I like having 4 fate bringers just to show everyone i've done VoG, why can't you accomodate me with my ridiculous requests bungie?" Edit: being more PC.

1 ReplyWell the way I look at it, we should have the max amount of vault space Bungie can integrate with the restrictions they have. That being said, it's not really fair to offer so many unique weapons only to have them dismantled because you don't have the space. I'm glad Bungies listening however, and doubling it. This shows their listening and is a step in the right direction. What I don't like are the people who say it shouldn't be full already. Everyone plays the game differently and has the right to play the way they see fit. If somebody wants to hoard, let them. It's their choice and their play style. That being said I hope we continue to see vault space increases as TTK and future expansions will further the need for more vault space.

2 RepliesEdited by JesusOfSuburbia: 8/21/2015 3:04:48 PMWhat's ridiculous is that you've maxed your vault that bad. Seriously. Mine is like75% full, but that's because I save every single Regulator Mk 56 I get. And that is because reasons. I have like 20 of them. Edit: ok probably over 30. It's been a while.
-
They paged the vault, yet still only gave us 2 pages. wtf bungie.
-
I don't think they intended the game to be an episode of hoarders...
-
3 RepliesIf 72 slots aren't enough then you have hoarding issues.
-
6 RepliesEdited by ThisMahSwamp: 8/21/2015 1:06:19 PMYou obviously have weapons you don't use either at all or not often. Dismantle them. 1600 hours and I have plenty of space to switch stuff around. Edit: just saw a pick of your vault...delete your exotic duplicates FFS. Also, you don't need 5-6 part crashes/Matadors.....
-
3 RepliesDelete everything until you only have one of each weapon. Absolutely no reason to have 3 of everything.
-
I have almost nothing in my vault... All my armor is on the character for the class its used for, and I only have weapons that I want to keep but don't really use. My general items take up the most space.

3 RepliesI don't understand why it is so hard for bungee to implement more vault space, and thought they sounded like dicks getting everyone to chant "vault space". Is it last gen holding it back? It's like when TDB dropped, we had the sword of Crota guys, then when HOW dropped, they vanished. Does this mean when TTK drops, the wolves pack won't drop?. It seems like when we pay for a new DLC, half the stuff we pay for in the last just vanishes. P.S I'm not a hater, I love the game. It's just sometimes I don't understand bungee

11 RepliesEdited by Gladiaattori1500: 8/21/2015 1:22:36 PMYou are such a spoiled kid. In addition you have no idea how complicated it is from the development stand point to add more space. It isn't equivalent for flipping a switch.
-
how many of those weapons do you ACTUALLY USE? Kleenex on sale this week....
-
You'll prob Delete some after TTK. There you go :)
-
1 ReplyWell you might as well dismantle almost all of your guns anyways because they aren't worth anything anymore and are useless in ttk!

What I find redic is how coke does not have any protein in it. Wtf!!!!!!
