A question for those who don´t do well in PvP
How can you enjoy it? I´m not trying to be elitist or anything, this is an honest question. How can you go 5-20 , enjoy the game and keep playing it? Do you like staring at the death screen for half a match? Because for me that wouldn´t really be an enjoyable experience.
To be clear: I´m asking for people who are at the bottom of the leaderboards and going less than 0,5 KD...so please don´t start defending "I am 0,8 and have a lot of captures " etc...
EDIT: Since many people are talking about improving and getting better at the game etc....again, most of you are around 0.5-1.0 KD and clearly an improvement is showing. So I will say it again...if you are in that range YOU ARE GOOD! You are clearly helping your team, showing some results and improving. What I am talking about are people that go 3-27 or whatever and basically have a KD around 0.2...I´m sorry if most of you understood this post wrong.

I actually started a thread today, asking for tips, so I think I'm OK answering this one :D How can I enjoy it? Well that's down to one thing only - Who I play with. If I go in alone and get set up with randoms and have nobody to talk to, I hate it. I'm poor at it and being unable to communicate with my team makes it worse for me. This is the opposite when i go in with my clan. They're in quite often and I join in when there's nothing left to do in PvE or I fancy a laugh. There are usually at least two or three in our team who own shit and we often get apple error codes because of them. I'm often carried to wins. Now there may be people thinking 'if I was one of them, I'd hate you on my team' and I can understand that from the serious folk, but we all play all elements of this game for a laugh. We have a joke around in PvP and laugh at each other, but we play well together, despite me dying a lot. I don't mind too much because Detiny PvP isn't my thing - I actually think it's pretty weak (Titanfall is where I roam - and often rule, surprisingly) So I only play PvP on Destiny when I have my clan in there with me. I enjoy it that way and we have fun. If I play PvP alone, I don't get that and start to dislike the game for all its flaws, which I ignore when I'm having fun. Hope that helps in some way :D TL:DR - I'm crap at Destiny PvP but have fun because I only go in with friends.

1 ReplyIf you notice my history, it will show I am most likely the one you are directing this question to... I don't enjoy it, therefore I get mad, break controllers, break tv's, break ps4's, break my own fingers, etc etc etc (you get the jist of it) The older I get the worse I get at pvp... and the grumpier I have become... I stick with pve now, it seems to cost me less money and hurts my hand so much less...

I don't play it much but some games I'll get kd of 3 and others just 1, I'm starting to not drop negative now but match making sucks the teams are never fair

Still fun to try... not everyone games to become champ. I just game for fun. If I do well, cool. If I do crappy, cool. It's fun.

I enjoy it. The test is to become better at it & possibly match or exceed the talent level of your peers. Its a grind to aquire true skill. One I'll get better, but until I do I just have to keep playing & keep grinding. There is always someone better...always!

Your kd is more of an indication of play style. If you're really aggressive you will have a lower kd ratio. If you camp back with a sniper/ shotgun blink with thorn you will have a high kd. Personally I have 1.3 kd but could have a 2.0 or higher if I camped or shotgun blinked, but I like playing aggressive and getting close up with pulse rifles and snipers/fusions. I mainly only use shotguns in pve.

If you use weapons like nlb, invective, universal remote, etc then you will be having fun with the weapons but may not be to be at the top of the leaderboard

When I stopped playing counter strike source, I stopped caring altogether about my fps stats.

I used to be a 0.37 kd overall since this is my first shooter game. Watched a shit-ton of videos and practiced a lot. I think I got a wee-bit better now.

Old parts don't move like they used to. Also, my wiring harness has a couple shorts because my hands don't do what my brain is thinking. Occasionally things go well.

I used to be terrible at Crucible. Swore it off. Said Thorn, Invective, and Juju were unobtanium. Then when I realized there was no penalty for dying on the juju I was like let's give it a shot. Finally got juju and still had a few hairs on my head left. IB rolled around and I was short on Etheric light sofigured once again, it's worth toughing it out. Suddenly I was good... suddenly instead of 5-20 I was 20-5...wtf? Oh snap level advantages and I was the only 34 in the game! Thorn bounty? Done. Invective bounty? Done. That experience showed me how fun PvP can be and inspired me to get better. Today in regular crucible I can hold my own depending on what time of day. For some reason once 1pm pst hits it becomes impossible again. Like all the try-hards woke up from their naps.

4 RepliesDestiny is my first online video game. When I was leveling up I tried crucible once or twice and hated it. I had done all the end game stuff that I could do as a single player. Then Bungie introduced inferno control and I gave it a shot. I loved it but I still sucked at it. It took me a long time to find the weapons that worked for me and the tactics. But I dug myself into such a big hole that it is going to take a long time to break even on my k/d. The last two months have been good to me and I mostly go positive in matches so that helps. So I did it for the challenge and for something to do. I do every iron banner now and want to give ToO another shot soon. Bad thing is I only played inferno that very first week and not since.

2 RepliesYea I used to be terrible. But I have been practicing and getting better. I stay because I enjoy the challenge of trying to improve myself. Will I ever be elite, maybe but I know I have to practice more than others. Just because I do bad doesn't mean I am going to quit.

They could just be good and are having a bad day. I've had days where I do utter shit and go negative but usually do alright. FYI this isn't my real account if you decide to check my stats

2 RepliesMost of those people are either enjoying their pace in PVP or are trying to do a bounty. Either way, they have as much a valid reason to keep playing as anyone else who paid for the game. That's the only time I'd ever go into PVP, the weap exotic bounty.

5 RepliesWell I'm not at a .5 k/d, but I'm probably somewhere around average(?). At any rate, I just don't like the PvP in this game, and it mostly has to do with how slow the sensitivity is. The sensitivity is ok for aiming I suppose, but when someone is right up on you, you can't turn fast enough to acquire a target unless they're right in front of you. The deadzone on the thumbstick is atrocious as well. For that reason alone I can't enjoy the PvP in Destiny.

For me, it's about the challenge. Ya, I get mad sometimes but as I get better in PVP, my PVE game gets phenomenally better. Not having a great connection all day/everyday is annoying but adds to the challenge. I think I have more postmortem kills than anyone I know. Hahahaha

Just don't run out or rush also help a team mate out to kill. Also find the guns you like playing with. Look at my titan I have a blue gun I like using as my primary, I have a shotgun but only use it if the enemy gets close to me. Also work on running away after a kill if it looks like your out numbered. Also learn the map knowing areas to avoid or go.
