Telling me not to tell you how to live your life is telling me how to live mine. So by your logic I shouldn't listen to you. You entirely misrepresented his stance. He is very sensible and doesn't see the over priced collectors items as being worth the money. I've seen the video, he never said not to buy them, he just didn't see any reason to buy them since they don't add value to the content of the game. What he is arguing is that so far the DLC's haven't been worth the price and that people should stop buying them until more effort is put into them. This would only help the game. So if you like the game, I don't understand why you wouldn't want it to improve. And if you don't see any room for improvement you obviously are new to games. "I'll spend my money how I want" is an incredibly ill conceived cop-out and any sensible person reading will see that you have no argument to stand on. I have no problem with collectors editions, that is just an incredibly intellectually void response. The argument isn't wether your able, it's wether you should. A strict dichotomy obviously separates these concepts. He makes a case that the pros don't justify the monetary requirement. He thinks people are being ripped off and wants to see it end. He's only trying to help. The fact that he made you feel bad about your purchase because he made a great case as to why you shouldn't have made said purchase reveals a self-esteem issue. That is a personal issue on your part, not his. How about you combat his argument rather than his motives. The fact that you are attacking the individual rather than the argument is an obvious sign of blind bias. Again, I have nothing against how you spend your money. But this post was just a big bias rant.

I didn't buy the collector's edition. Your first sentence was recursive in an attempt to discredit my points, and was pointless. I feel like I got my money's worth on the DLCs. I played them, I enjoyed them, and I still play. That's enough for me, and it should be enough for anyone. You or Dobbins. People can be made to feel bad about things they shouldn't. It is a fact of our brains and the human condition. Trying to make someone feel bad in order to sell your personal brand or opinion is wrong. As for his argument, I did. Value is a personal decision. I said that he is wrong to attack people for having different values than him. Something he consistently does. It's the basis of the vast majority of his arguments. If I can't disagree with that foundation, I can't say anything about his videos. A person can be an unlikable, mean-spirited person and make good points. I believe he makes some decent points, but does so by being deliberately divisive and deliberately trying to belittle a group of people. That us wrong.

It's recursive nature doesn't somehow invalidate it. And it's actually a paradox, not entirely re-occurring. It did its job in illustrating the nonsense that was the original statement. In that said statement actually begs a recursive response that doesn't end in resolution. Describing my argument in its execution doesn't nullify it's concept. It wasn't meant to invalidate your points (which were non-existent) so the irony is that your statement was actually pointless. - so you took my argument out of context. Your second paragraph is subjective and doesn't address the issue of monetary worth from an objective standpoint. Objectively, the last two DLC's have had very little content relative to the price relative to the industry standard. That's why major reviews have been scoring so low. You think you got your money's worth? Great! I don't think I did. So I'm going to be a responsible consumer and provide feedback like the rest of the gaming community so that I might one day see said problem solved. That's very selfish to deny someone criticism because your needs were met. Negative feedback will only help the game. You and I will both benefit. Your third paragraph is nothing but a bunch of statements without any explanations. Of course people need to be told how to live (if the agenda is for the betterment of the individual) How to spend money and how to save. How to value human life. How to live selflessly and sacrificially for their family. Is there no such thing as truth? You have the right to your money. But there is wisdom and foolishness is spending it. Would you not teach your kid how to save and not blow it all on candy and toys? Again, you assume that his motive is for his own benefit and don't actually address his argument. (Didn't see your delayed edit)

  • There is absolutely no such thing as Objective Value. It is entirely subjective. Was there less material in Destiny DLC than in, say, Skyrim's? Yes. But I got more fun out of Destiny's than I did Skyrim, making it subjectively more valuable, which again, is the only type of value there is. I'm sorry that you felt you didn't get your money worth. But you experience also isn't proof that a product is not worth it for others. And if past experience leads you to not buying future Bungie or Activision products, that's fine. But if enough people do enjoy it enough to feel it's worth it, then who are you to tell them that their opinion is invalid? They voted with their wallets, you vote with yours, and everyone moves on. You make points about what makes you leave. You don't try to shame people like this video does. It's not considerate. And I HAVE taught my daughter that. Please do not question my parenting ability again. The only unwise purchase is of a want that keeps you from a need.
