Question -
If i wait to open packages until after TTK is released, does that mean that the packages (vanguard/crucible/dead orbit/NM/FWC) will contain new gear related to TTK... or will it only be gear that reflects when the package was earned?
Need an answer for this. I don't really need or want any of the current gear from any of the vendor's at this time, so I am hoping i can hold onto the packages and get TTK gear in September.
thanks for your help.

What you should do is use them to edge up your rep rank so that it is close to complete the day/night TTK drops, then, new packages/levels earned will be opened in the new TTK, unless they change the levelling system (and it looks like they may)
-
No don't listen to all the bs I did all that grinding for how and nothing mattered You will have to play the game to rank up

1 ReplyI'm saving engrams and packages. I know the engrams will be old stuff but opening them will level up the cryptarch which will hopefully lead to some new gear. Packages should be new gear tho.

2 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 8/19/2015 12:06:35 AMThe items will not update to TTK items. HOWEVER. After the DLC drops, the reputation you get from those saved up engrams and packages could lead towards potentially getting a TTK item when you level up.

22 RepliesNo, you'll get old items. Only packages worth keeping are public event (for xp to level up and new subclasses) and cryptarch packages. If you save cryptarch packages and open them when taken king releases, the engrams you get from them will have TTK items. * Any engrams you save now won't turn into new items.

3 RepliesCryptarch will give TTK engrams though. Everything else will be timestamped for Pre TTK.

Packages that you already received will contain current items, but if you increase your rep to just before a lvl up and then level up that faction after TTK releases, the packages you get from that will contain TTK items. That's how it worked with previous DLCs.
-
Packages will only give currently available gear. No point in holding onto them.
-
Save packages (hehehe). Open them Decrypt them. Profit
-
Old stuff but opening packages gives a decent amount of rep so saving them isn't totally pointless.
-
No, but if you save enough engrams to get a package and turn them in when u get ttk, you can get ttk stuff from those packages
-
6 RepliesNo, they won't. The only benefit you'll get from them is the xp. They will still contain old loot

I'm pretty sure packages are locked once you get them. Their contents, I mean.
