If the battles are going to be as large scale as they say and everything be bigger and better than ever using Xbox ones power, I think it's a difficult but great decision! I don't understand the complaining about it. People basically play over Xbox live these days anyways. If losing split screen makes for a more enjoyable experience, I'm down.

Don't care. Always played with friends over live

I don't want to have to go buy a whole new Xbox One just to play Halo with my brother, like I did on every other Halo. But splitscreen's dying.. It was to be expected.
-
Sucks but doesn't affect me at all so I'm okay with it
-
Coach coop is far more of an enjoyable experience than is online coop.
-
I'm kind of disappointed because my best halo moments are on split screen with my little brother. I still am really excited for the game though and no split screen won't stop me from buying it.
-
Very disappointed but I fully understand at least they took lot's of time to decide
-
There will always be the mcc for split screen
-
I'm the same, if it's something that was cut to improve the overall experience, sign me up. I haven't used it since college, and even then it was used sparingly. Only time I really needed it was in high school when I played co-op with friends. Hell, even if it was still in the game, and I was consistently playing with someone in my home, I'd pony up for the second console and TV/monitor. Splitscreen is such a dated feature.

1 ReplyIt's an unfortunate sacrifice that was necessary to get the game to the standards the community demanded. I'm not happy about it but it's trade off I can live with.
-
Hey, I'll finally get good teammates. No more playing on a team full of nerds having a halo party on little Johnny No Thumbs' 30 inch tube TV.
-
18 RepliesThis is a terrible decision for anybody that has actual friends, or kids. It's essentially the companies way of getting people to buy more copies of games. I buy gears of war and halo to play co-op with my buddies that can't afford them. Now in order to play with friends everyone has to own a copy. Money grubbing is all that is.
-
I don't mind since everyone I play with has their own console so split screen is not needed
-
Edited by The Space Nib: 8/18/2015 5:45:31 PMDon't need it. Maybe if it was back when I was a kid and had to share with my 2 cousins then yea. But we are all old enough (hell I even moved out) that we all have our preferred consoles and don't play with each other. So no split screen. No problem.

2 RepliesEdited by Uuv: 8/17/2015 9:05:10 PMI mean, growing up with it was fantastic, and I loved it. But I'm at the point where I game solo on my own Xbox, and just play with friends over Xbox Live. So Halo 5 not having splitscreen is unfortunate, but it makes absolutely no difference to me at all.

Edited by Zonda: 8/18/2015 2:05:37 PMFair enough given they basically completed the engine before they realized Split screen would demand too much, and by then it was too late for a major restructuring. Given we already have MCC, at least there's something for split screen halo fans in the wait for Halo 6 to hopefully reinstate Local MP, although imo, the Wii-U is the best current gen console for multiple people to play on 1 console.

1 ReplyI hardly know of anyone who even wants to split screen these days anyways. Even when I spend the weekend at my buddy's place, I'll either bring my monitor or we hook up to his extra TV. I hate split screening, so I'm glad they opted out of it
-
It doesn't affect me much at all. I loved playing splitscreen five years ago, but I'd now rather have a bigger and better game at the cost of losing splitscreen.
-
It sucks but I can't think of the last time I wanted to play split screen
-
I don't mind. Haven't used split screen since Halo 3 first came out.
-
Long time fan (Halo 2), i say who cares. Everyone is blowing it out of proportion just so they have something to complain about.

Edited by Vermiculus Nova: 8/18/2015 11:49:53 AMGood riddance. Now I don't have brain damaged split screeners ruining online games for me and my friends.
-
I live at home with my wife and 3 kids who play Halo, not anymore though apparently.
-
1 ReplyWho cares. I play online not split screen.
-
I'm sad personally. Split screen campaign was my favorite way to play Halo in all of the other games.
-
2 RepliesNo split screen in Halo 5 makes Battlefront 3 that much more attractive.
-
It sucks that we are losing it but its understandable why we are losing it.
