RIP Blink..New Game Informer Article

I understand blink is OP for PvP when combined with a shotgun, but for the love of God please leave PvE ALONE!!!!!
I feel like I'm in slow motion when not using blink, and it's soooo useful in PoE. Easy fix to make everyone happy: make PvP and PvE nerf separate or incorporate a small delay after blink that prohibits shotgun usage.

244 RepliesI'm a huge fan of Blink - as many of you may have noticed from my abundance of Hunters. I wouldn't be to quick to make judgments before you play it. Even as a Hunter with a strong bias towards Blink being powerful, I think the changes made are more than fair.

Pvp - the training ground for guardians before they go out into the wilds (The minor side game of destiny that is merely a choice people can make as to whether or not they play it) Pvp babies bitch and whine constantly about guns, armour, supers, grenades. Even the maps have been complained about! Question 1. Why does a mere side game get so much attention from bungie? Question 2. Why are any nerfs made a direct result from pvp babies complaining? Question 3. Do you bungie think it is fair that pve exclusive(the majority) players should suffer their guns being nerfed into nothing to try and appease the minority? Do feel free to answer these questions with actual answers not half baked bull to side step them

Over time it has pretty much become a PvP experience with PvE as something you do on the side. Countless Iron Banner events in comparison to the one PvE event. All major Podcasts such as PlanetDestiny talk nothing but PvP 80% of the time. Weapon nerfs in PvE are a result of PvP backlash. The best PvP player obtains more Etheric Light per character each week running Trials than a guy who solely runs PoE, and thats not including the PvPers who do both ToO and PoE!!! The ToO weapons absolutely shat on the PoE and I mean shat on! The majority of the followed/popular Twitch Destiny streamers are followed because of PvP. Majority of actual gameplay footage released for TTK so far has been PvP. I enjoy PvP, there's nothing wrong with it, its another game mode to be enjoyed, however its not what I bought Destiny for and I am sure the same applies to a large proportion of the community. If I wanted to play PvP I would have stuck to Battlefield or competitive PC games. Destiny was supposed to be that game that took you away from and popular games where PvP is its main focus. If the PvE element isn't there you are somewhat forced to play PvP, a mode I could have played elsewhere.

I think pvp and pve should have their own weapons, with absolutely no cross over. All these cry babies with the nerfs/buffs as a result of their whinging. Pvp should be about skills, and who is quicker. Not this "my dicks bigger than yours" attitude. Only weapons used pvp, should rank up based on kills. That way there will be no more whining 8-16 year olds. If you're crap at pvp, it will show. Leave well alone the weapons used in pve. I didn't buy a PS4 & destiny for pvp, I bought them for its advertised content

The thing that stood out to me was the line (and I'm paraphrasing here) "If you take Crucible seriously then you'll be frustrated." That's such a shitty design philosophy to stand by. "Hey, we know we have a shit ton of issues beyond weapon balancing, but -blam!- fixing the game, we're going to try and make Crucible as casual as possible."

I completely agree, I feel as though Bungie thinks that PVE and PVP are combined, and I think of them as totally different games, and that they should be treated as such. Last word and thorn are absolutely stupid in PVP, but in PVE they are shed for things like fatebringer, which is not used very much in PVP. Blink is useful in PVE, but downright frustrating in PVP, and needing a nerf.

Ok say I'm going to enlighten whoever reads this. Blink is not being nerfed to low tier; however if you've watched some of the more recent PVP gameplay you'll realize that the range of shotguns have been reduce to a much smaller range. So the blink shotgun combo won't be as good.
