@Bungie Devs: Ideas for improving EXISTING team finding options.

Okay Bungie, for the time-being endgame grouping is staying the same as it's been up until now. While we have a thread going with ways to hopefully implement in-game options in the future (https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/146352404/0/0), in the meantime I think you can at least make the existing options more functionable. Let’s start with the app recruiting. It's not good. Currently if I decide I want to use your app to find a group to do a raid on 360 and I go to the RAID tab, the top Xbox 360 raid thread is
*XBOX 360* PRISON OF ELDERS + TRIALS OF OSIRIS TEAM FINDER
Followed by
Xbox 360 -[Official]- Team Finder - Raids, Trials, PoE, Weekly and Nightfall
At least that one actually lists raids... Not that many in the thread are really looking to run a raid. It's 99% looking to go flawless in ToO. Yeah there's a Crota raid, but if you’re a squeaker you're not getting in ("no kids") and a VoG popped up that you may or may not get into, but the point is that it's about as unorganized as it gets. Okay, you could post your own thread looking for more, but how long until it's buried by the 5K comment posts filled with the looking to go flawless crowd? So the first thing I would suggest you do is further breakdown the categories in those threads and maybe even go so far as to make sticky threads for each event/system and disable posts outside those threads. Category: Raids Sub category: Xbox Sticky Threads: Xbox One Crota Xbox One HM Crota Xbox One VoG Xbox One HM VoG Xbox 360 Crota Xbox 360 HM Crota Xbox 360 VoG Xbox 360 HM VoG Subcategory Playstation Sticky threads: PS4 Crota PS4 HM Crota PS4 VoG PS4 HM Vog PS3 Crota PS3 HM Crota PS3 VoG PS3 HM Vog Is it more work for you to put up more categories, subcategories? Sure, but it's also more streamlined and easy for those who aren't "LEVEL 34, MUST HAVE GONE FLAWLESS AT LEAST 5 TIMES AND HAVE THORN" to get on and use without taking one look and saying screw it. The heroics tab is 90% PoE. The Crucible tab is pretty much 100% ToO. So basically if you want to run sh*t that isn't PoE/ToO and you're not a rock star, don't use your app. I actually tried using it to find just a full team of 6 to play normal Control with a couple weeks back. Can you guess how that went? So in review. You have an app, you have a recruitment section and you need to blow it up and start over. Okay, let’s move on to LFG sites. Currently the 2 main players are destinylfg.com and destinylfg.net. They're both essentially the same, though the interfaces do vary slightly and they're both the product of an amazing community that stepped up and filled a void that existed from there being literally no ways to group when this game launched (for all the people that want to "forget", there wasn't even a recruitment tab on the forums at launch, everyone were flooding #community and boy were they pissed...) This is probably not going to be a popular suggestion with diehard fans of those sites, but I'm going to propose you do one of 2 things. 1) Implement that functionality directly into Bungie.net. You made a point of telling us you are nerfing Gjallarhorn because you didn't like how people were excluded on those sites, but you gave up the right to moderate how people group when you left it to the community to create those sites. If you want to control the quality and fairness of the experience, you need to be the ones running it. And let's face it, you have way more resources and can greatly improve the quality of those experiences. They're not bad, but they aren't perfect either. I would suggest having pages specifically for each system and then breaking it down by activity. I would also include some functionality to reply to people in-game directly from the web site (either with typed or pre-scripted messages or with invites or requests for invites). 2) I would suggest if you don't want to build it into your site, that you buy out the current community sites and take direct control of them. So in review. Destiny shipped with nothing to group, the community built nice sites for you, but this all needs to be centralized and integrated into Bungie.net. If we're going to have to leave the game to play it, at least let us have all our resources in one place. As always, thank you for your time and if any of you Guardians have better ideas, I always love reading them so let me know what you think. I have nothing against the LFG sites or those that run them and I think they're awesome people for what they've done, but as I just believe it's time Bungie start running their own game. EDIT: I almost completely forgot the entire reason I sat down to post in the first place. Seeing as for the time being we are status quo, I want to suggest that you STRONGLY consider a way to prevent trolling through LFG sites. I saw yet another post tonight about a Guardian being kicked by a LFG host on PoE when they got to the rewards and this was very prevalent in raids as well with people being kicked at the boss. My suggestion is that Kick functionality at least be disabled once a fight has started and (if it isn't a wipe) remain disabled for at least 2-3 minutes past the rewards dropping. Hosts should never be able to kick someone and prevent them getting a reward. Thank you, Sols

 • So, I can officially say that today I've finally done the vault of glass and Crotas end. I ended up using the LFG forum on this site, however, only in Crotas end did I actually join a chat party. Let me clarify that.... No one in group used chat at all for VOG and I never spoke one word to anyone about how to do it. I'd never done vault of glass before today and I successfully completed the raid in about 2 hours with a group who had absolutely no contact with each other. And above that, I was the active relic operator on Atheon for most of the fight. How you ask? It's a secret.
google
So what does this tell me? It tells me we were completely right the whole time. Raids don't need chat to be completed. They may require organized groups when they first come out, but after a while, the videos on YouTube tell it all. I love being able to prove Bungie wrong. I still would be happy with an in game LFG or recruitment system. Copy and paste this into your next post about in game LFG and mm.
