My grim is fairly high, but there are just things I'm never going to waste my time doing. Getting fusion rifle kills won't make me a better player. Playing Skirmish could make me better at small team gameplay, but only if I'm playing with competent players, thus, I don't play skirmish because my friends don't care for the game mode. I'm the sum of my experiences, and my grimoire does reflect a majority of those experiences, but not all of those experiences are reflections of skill. A lot of that shit just proves I get on and play often. Dead ghosts contribute a good bit to a score, but searching them out literally proves nothing about your skill. It just means you like finding shit or you're interested in the lore.

  • Thanks, and you're welcome. As far as the community is concerned, this is a weirdly important subject, and I want my viewpoint out there because people won't stop talking about it.

  • Yeah, but they don't. There's always gonna be some way that people try to distinguish skill outside of actually testing a person's skill. It's sad, but oh so true.

I wish there was private matches TBH. 1v1s would be so relevant. Edit: I can see it now, 1v1 me bro, no supers.

  • That would be hilarious. I wish somebody would 1v1 me with Thorn so I can beat them with a non-meta scout rifle. It would be beautiful. The only downside to that is that it wouldn't necessarily prove PvE experience. When I was first starting out, I played much more PvP than PvE. Granted, PvE is very doable is along as you're competent, but it still can't be solely measured by PvP ability. Moreover, when you need a team for Skolas or Oryx or whatever, a 1v1 would take too long. Even for Trials, all the time 1v1ing could have been spent just filtering out certain people. Not that I'm supporting all that grimoire nonsense, but honestly, it's not practical for quick assessment.
