Grimoire represents "the grind" which in theory represents the skill to shoot the same thing over and over again. The more you shoot the better your skill gets. So it goes hand in hand.
I have 900+ hours in and find it mind numbing that I still need a shit ton of ogre and hydra kills. I have no interest in grinding it out. The perfectionist in me is screaming "oh come on, it's just 75 hydras!" -blam!- that though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree. I wasn't much of a PvP player and since I'm bored with PvE I've been trying to go into the crucible more to get more skill. :)
