Even if that was the case, the messenger still has better range than the hopscotch.

Never once have I had a problem with range on hopscotch ...but I can out damage the messenger with better accuracy and i run Hunter with knuckle head radar so yea hopscotch is better in pvp

If you roll smallbore on the HP you will have the same range, stability and mag size as a messenger (if you think that's better than max stability). Plus you can pick the other two perks to suit your play style. Reactive reload and hidden hand are very sweet.

I run with feeding freenzy,speed reload,reactive reload...then I run knuckle head radar,pulse speed reloading armor,pulse ammo armor,chain of woes,hunters trance....this set up makes the hopscotch even better

That's a beast! I have 2: one with feeding frenzy/braced frame/reactive reload and one with feeding frenzy/brackets frame/hidden hand. I like the hidden hand for TOO. The HP with reactive reload was the first gun to get me >30 kills in a game. It was asylum and I was on B and they just kept rushing and I was mowing them down. I actually ran out of primary ammo. It was so much fun!
