Exotic armour buff suggestions - Hunters

While there are plenty of badass exotics out there, we are well aware that some of them genuinely suck. Weapons are a trickier issue so this thread will focus on dealing with lackluster pieces of exotic armour. In this thread i'll be dealing with hunter exotics, lets get right to it!
ATS/8 ARACHNID: Problem - There is no reason to use this exotic, nearly all situations will be close enough range to take out targets without this helmet and if enemies are too far away you can simply move closer before using it. On top of that it offers no range buffs so you'll be dealing reduced damage using it at its effective range. Buff - Let this helmet give the deadeye and over the horizon perks as well as its zoom in feature. While not an enormous buff it would make the helmet better in its intended area. Replacing light the blade with inverse shadow would also be good, giving you more chances to use your super and increasing the usability of the main perk. Making the stats a mix of intellect and discipline would also help make it more desirable.

Knucklehead Radar: Problem - While it can be handy for people who use their radar extensively, it doesn't really benefit you that much, you can just scope out for a second to check the radar and in PVE you usually know where the enemies are anyway. Buff - The helmet seems to be made for lone wolves who need to watch their own backs so make it better at that. Give it the quickdraw and fleet footed perks. This would make help the wearer react quicker to situations as a solo player would need to while not really affecting PVP gameplay all that much. Also nobody likes pure strength exotics, I'd say make it a discipline/strength split.

Spine of young Ahamkara: Problem - One of the arguably most useless exotics in the game, especialy in PVE. there are very few scenarios where leaving a tripmine out will kill someone, in PVP players will usualy spot it and just shoot it out while in PVE you're better off just throwing it directly at the enemy. Buff - Saw this idea in another thread, basically let the exotic give you two tripmine grenades along with its current buff. It would make the exotic a better pvp choice, especially in trials and it would actually give it a use in PVE.

Don't Touch Me: Problem - While not a bad exotic, it has two main problems. In PVP it has next to no use as you can still see invisible players and at such close range the lack of radar isn't a disadvantage in most scenarios. In PVE it has its uses but a combination of lightswitch, lack of melee range combat and most importantly the fact that enemies still attack you for a brief time after you go invisible. This makes the perk much less useful that it seems in theory. Buff - Basically make this exotic blind nearby enemies when you are hit by a melee attack in addition to brief invisibility. This would give you a much better chance to escape when swarmed in PVE, as well as giving you a reason to go up close to stun tough enemies. In PVP it would essentially give you a chance to escape or retaliate after being hit by a melee.

Crest of Alpha Lupi Problem - Has strength, nobody likes strength (especially on hunters) Buff - Change to intellect or discipline, I'd suggest intellect to tie in with the main perk. With this done it could become a very popular exotic.

Radiant Dance Machines Problem - While some people enjoy combining this exotic with mida and pretending to be the flash, generally the main perk is barely noticeable and gives no real advantage in PVP or PVE. (Planet Destiny did a video on them and the increase in speed was minimal at best) Buff - Rather than increase speed while ADS, they should just make it so you don't get a speed reduction when you go ADS. This would actually give a significant speed increase, the boots could also grant the user increased agility, like the ram does with armour, to increase this further. Also get rid of pure strength, not sure what to replace it with but any exotic with pure strength instantly looses marks. Extra note: We need an exclusive badass dance for when you're wearing these boots.
Well that's it for hunters, feel free to post your own suggestions on what you think would work and what doesn't. Hoping we can make these exotics as awesome as Celestial Nighthawk or Bones of Eao. I thought up some balanced buffs for hunter exotics. :^) Kucklehead Radar: Highlights enemies through walls. Ahamkaras spine: Tripmine grenades persist forever until destroyed, even staying in pvp maps to greet the next team fighting there Arachnid: grow one leg and one arm more, able to wield two primaries at once, climb walls, move really fast, but solar resistance is reduced by 100% Symbiote: Golden Gun fires as fast as The Last Word and has ammo equal to your primary weapon.
NOTE! Firing the golden gun may cause the following: headache, retardification due to helmet suckling on brains, nausea, requiring gjallarhorn to all activities, trashtalking and/or yelling that you had sexual intercourse with someone elses mother.
Radiant Dance Machines: You get dance moves that are so awesome they blind everyone within a kilometer radius. Khepris Sting: That beetle begings to crawl all over your enemies bodies oh god why someone kill it oh god its huge please bathe me in napalm Mask of the Third Man: Bladedance attacks no longer drain super energy. Stuck in bladedance forever. Guardian tears may cause you to short circuit and die. Nighthawk: Your head grows wings, allowing you to soar the skies like an eagle that shoots giant solar beams of freedom But wait, theres more! Dont Touch Me: After recieving a melee hit, you are violently repulsed by beign touched by another human/alien beign. You start going to introvert groups and eventually after months of therapy you can actually be social again, which causes the gauntlets to dismantle themselves. Bones of Eao: Your jump strenght is now equal to four hundred cabal phalanxes meleeing you at the same time. Optional accessories include a tow cable to bring you back from orbit, and if used indoors, a bucket and a mop. Lucky Raspberry: This armor actually leaves you after death, and taunts you with messages for the rest of your life. Also the armor bangs your guardians mom. Twice. Crest of Alpha Lupi: Resurrect other players instantly and grant them a triple overshield*
*resurrected player must be 8-13 years old, have three hunters, and gamertag must contain atleast three X's and the number 420.
Most hunter exotics definitely need to be reworked. I don't really agree with all these ideas, but they are a lot closer to the mark than how most hunter exotics are in their current state (which is near useless). I personally use Spine of Ahamkara in pvp and find it somewhat useful (a fourth golden gun shot is nice on symbiote, but I rarely find the time to use a fourth shot before it time runs out). A second trip mine or at the very least a larger blast radius with the current perks would make it a worthwhile pvp exotic. Knucklehead radar should definitely give radar for all weapons, not just primaries. ATS/8 Arachnid is just pointless. Why, just why? It's so pointless it hurts just thinking about it. I would personally love to use this armor just because it looks pretty cool, but the main exotic perk of "increasing golden gun zoom" is so pointless it hurts. You should mention Lucky Raspberry too; needs a second grenade (at the very least the fusion rifle ammo perk needs to change to special ammo in general to bring it up to par with Armamentarium and just to make it more versatile than legendary alternatives). A perk that could be entertaining would be to have an arcbolt grenade explode where you die or something (a true lucky raspberry lol).

    • You realize how op these would be right? I've read your other ones and I can tell your clearly biased towards hunters. Your titan buffs especially were completely terrible ideas. Insurmountable skull fort is good? Really? Just take a look at the ones similar like lucky raspberry. It makes insurmountable skull fort look like a green!

      • Like these suggestions. Only things I would say is knucklehead radar should trigger on all your weapons, not just primaries. Then it would be extremely useful. I would like to see Spine of young Ahamkara increase the damage of tripmine (rather than carry two) so it could 1 shot opponents regardless of their armor stat.

There shouldn't be hunter perks on the knucklehead radar. I think it would be fine if you just made it so you could select which weapon slot gives you the radar while ADS. I also argue with the young ahamkara's spine, it's not useless. I get a ridiculous amount of tripmine kills with it, people don't often shoot it and instead just try to run through it. Not likely it'll happen in 10 seconds, though, so making it 30 is fine. I think this exotic is fine as it is. Don't make the don't touch me blind people, that's just over reacting. They do what they're intended to and are in no need of a buff.

                • Nah I want rdm just for that reason! They're fine just like the mk44 stand asides and peregrine greeves are. I love dtms in pvp because turning invis after being struck, while it doesn't make you totally invisible, is disorienting for the enemy as it's not common. I agree on the rest mostly.
