I have only played a BD. But have a leveled up GS. What am I missing out on?
-
Both are very good in PVP, but I prefer BD over GS for it. Mostly because of blink (for dodging and mobility, I don't do that scrub blink shotgunning) and Quickdraw which makes your aiming time noticeably faster. Also Arc Bolt grenades are better than the GS grenades imo, especially with Lucky Raspberry. I do tend to get more kills without dying with the GS super though. It's just extremely easy to end up dead in Arc Blade.

Gunslinger is one of my favorite subclasses. With chain of woe and gunslinger's trance, you can be extra deadly with a hand cannon or scout rifle. Stack each three times by clearing out mobs, and then you go for the larger enemies. Golden gun with combustion is good on groups, but it's a weak super if you try to use it on majors. In PvP you will want a different set of perks. It is the subclass I change the most between PvP and PvE. Bladedancer is fun, but I feel like it relies too much on invisibility. Great for higher level content like PoE with mines or nightfall with revives, but seems like the perks end up kinda wasted at other times. It can be a lot of fun, I just prefer gunslinger for a lot of stuff. PvP wise, both are solid but require different play styles.

Bladedancer for PvE (invisibility is really useful) except for bosses then I switch to gunslinger and nighthawk. Gunslinger for PvP.

Edited by PhoneticLand: 8/19/2015 2:18:09 PMGunslinger in PvE: Golden Gun is very meh. Add Nighthawk? Very good! The Swarm and Tripmines are nice for PvE, triple jump is very useful for multiple things, knives arent totally needed but can clutch some situations where you are reloading. Bonus stats are okay, but typically don't make a vast difference. Gunslinger in PvP: Very good, Tripmines are king. Triple jump is meh compared to blink, and GG with 4 shots is baller, and shutting down other supers helps greatly. Knives are very useful and Stat bonuses help greatly Bladedancer in PvE: Arcbolt is pretty nifty, but is limited to just 3 enemies. Double jump is average. Super is very useless unless you use Vanish. Stalker and Shadow jack are very resourceful and come in handy almost all the time Bladedancer in PvP: Arcbolt is very good to finish kills or weaken the enemy to rush, especially in smaller game modes. Blink is boss. Arc Blade can wipe teams, but can be shut down easily if your opponent stays calm. Quickdraw is so freaking amazing. And Hungering Blade is useful for Arc Blade. Here's my thoughts: Gunslinger in PvE is an aggressive playstyle with finesse. Gunslinger in PvP is a passive support playstyle with ingenuity Bladedancer in PvE is a support medic role playstyle with battle awareness Bladedancer in PvP is an aggressive killing machine with tact

They're both amazing, Gunslinger has really great perks that reward a steady hand and precision shots and Golden Gun is very effective in PvP. Also the Tripmine grenade... I love Bladedancer but it's worth playing both
-
Blade dancer has blink and op QuickDraw soooo
-
Gunslinger for pve. Bladedancer for pvp (if you good at using blade coz it requires some skill).
-
Gunslinger. But blink is pretty over powered.

Edited by Moletron17: 8/19/2015 1:39:40 PMBoth are situational damage is best gunslinger and finally with celestial nighthawk you can finally do some decent damage. Blade dancer is more objective based great for its invisibility but damage is not great and puts you too close to enemies which is bad especially if light switch is on. I still if compared to warlock and titan a hunter is a little underpowered there melee cand one hit kill or doesnt add an overshield, grenades all suck except trip mine which is a risk at times due to can kill yourself. I do like hunters though and a good hunter is very usefull on a team.
-
2 RepliesNone. Hunters are garbage.
-
I've recently just got into crucible, and recently got into using my hunter. I have to say that gunslinger, for me, is first choice, you can pick people off pretty easy and bladedancers are pretty much nullified.
-
I prefer my Gunslinger when I play Trials with my Hunter. Mostly because usually one other teammate is running Bladedancer. I fear too much of the same is a bad thing, and keeping them off balance is key.
-
Gunslinger cause it can counter bladedancer

4 RepliesGunslinger: PVE BladeDancer: PVP

Gunslinger
-
For pvp wise here's what I gotta say in simple terms Golden gun is a much better super Blade dancer has quick swap an blink If you use snipers a lot like me then quick swap is OP. Blade dancer wins. But only if you snipe. Other wise gunslinger
-
9 RepliesGunslinger is a no no in PvE. Bladedancer is awesome in PvP. Gunslinger is awesome in PvP. Bladedancer is awesome in PvP. Bladedancer for the win
-
Pvp: bladedancer has best perks and decent super, gunslinger has okay perks and amazing super Pve: bladedancer has best perks and bad super, gunslinger has okay perks and amazing super So bladedancer is a little bit better i guess /:
-
You need to be extra strategic with your super and grenades as a gunslinger, but if you get used to it, and used to the throwing knives, it can be a blast! Expect some growing pains if you decide to start using gunslinger, the play style is quite different.
-
Gunslinger is a skilled subclass. Blade dancer is a sub class for n00bs
-
QuickDraw usually takes the cake in this argument.
-
you make people explode with a flaming pistol. what more explanation do you need?
-
1 ReplyBlade dancer is more....excuse my language.....noob friendly. It's easier to use, in other words. They have blink, easily the most OP jump in the crucible. Blink shotgun, diving supers, rockets, anything really. Arcbolt grenade, throw and forget. It'll hit any enemy within a 5 foot radius and chain off of any enemy within another 5 foot radius. One hit takes off 122, more than half a guardian's health. And a sticky gernade. Invisibility. Need I say more? And finally the blade dancer. Spam the right trigger and throw some blinks in there and no one can hit you. Coupled with hungering blade and we're talking about 3-4 kills from one super use. Gunslinger is a more honorable subclass with equal kill potential but takes more skill to be effective.
-
Neither is better. Close range VS Mid to long range abilities. You're preference and you're welcome.
-
I like gunslinger. I think it's a little more suited to the scout rifle, sit back strategy I play. I've never been able to get the hang of blink jump also
-
Blade dancer is more fun.
