I know why it took this long for Xur to sell Gjallarhorn again.
Xur was able to sell it before because there wasn't many guardians buying it the 2nd wekk.
Mr. Crux had to build every single one of the Gjallarhorns, and he had to wait for us to kill each other at Twilight Gap to have enough supply to fill the order so Xur would have enough to sell.
We know the truth.

5 RepliesMy theory of the real reason: Weekly update on Thursday 08/13 comes out mentioning Twitch livestreams about TTK. On Friday 08/14, Xur sells Gjallarhorn, creating a rush of traffic to forums, reddit. More people see announcements of streams in the coming weeks, likely resulting in higher viewer participation. The Office of Vanguard Intelligence confirms the Oryx Dreadnaught and reprisal fleet is now 28 days 16 hours away from Saturn orbit. The Nine in accordance with their treaty obligations with the Awoken and the Last City has given Xur permission to sell Gjallarhorn so that all Guardians will be prepared for the initial boarding action inside the Oryx Dreadnaught. The probable reason is the number of people playing has most likely dropped. To lure people back the gally was offered for sale. All year one players who still play can now have the gally if they were paying attention. I went on destiny lfg on friday to run ToO. There was maybe 20 guardians looking for a team. Back in vanilla and tdb I would have to constantly bump myself to the top of the postings otherwise my listing would get pushed off the list in a minute or two. I know this isn't a scientific method but it seems to me the only people left are the flawless ToO peeps. When Ttk drops I bet all the people who left will complain about not having a gally.
