What about if you have two people working towards an ultimate goal of a raise, one person has worked 10,000 hours and the other person that has only worked 100 hours. The way RNG works here is that both participants are just as likely to receive a raise regardless of their time spent working.
So basically you don't have to work hard at all to get great exotics. It's impossible to say you have earned any specific weapon or armor.

Actually, that's false. I think. Depending on how you wanna look at it, the guy with 10,000 hours is 100 times more likely to get the raise because he has 100 more chances. As in with destiny, if it takes one guy 10,000 hours to do Crota once and the other guy only 100, then they have the same chance. However, if it takes both 100 hours to do Crota, then the other guy has 100 more chances. You can't earn with RNG, but you can give yourself more chances to get drops.

That's not really how statistics works. Just because you do something more doesn't necessarily equate to having an increased chance at something. You're just as likely to receive something on attempt 1 as attempt 1,000
