I got my first from running hard Crota when the level cap was 32.
If you're telling me that it's harder to get coins and give them to Xûr than do that...

They patched the "Pull the Cable" exploit before Hard Mode came out. Same Raid, different difficulty, different strategies.

Yes they did, they made sure to sort out the lag switches before Hard Mode came out since they wanted to actually make it hard. They had also been dealing with the lagswitches throughout December and part of January.

Both parties earned it but the way you stated it, you essentially said that people that earned it through grinding Raids, NF's, ToO, and PoE didn't have to work harder for it than someone who did 2 weekly Strikes. I never stated that either party didn't earn it so get your head out of your arse.
