Thought I'd never get it because I've never done a raid :)

congratulations to all those people who got gjallarhorn. i was in the same boat i did not get it until house of wolves the first day it was released. i thought id never get the gally. i was playing for 7 months or so with alot of hours in. i think its great they sold it because alot of people have been playing along time with no gally and they deserve it as much as anyone else.

Was there this level of butthurt when they sold Ice Breaker twice in January? EVERYBODY went out and bought one (or more) and was happy. I already had one from a drop three months earlier, but I certainly didn't think of the ones I bought as "unearned" - it took a lot of time to collect those SC.

To me, the answer is an obvious no. The person who got his Gjallarhorn from beating Skolas, he earned it. The person who got his from Crota, he earned it. The person who got it from Atheon, he earned it. The person who got it from the lighthouse, he definitely earned it. (Provided he didn't get carried) To summarize: Buying Gjallarhorn from Xur isn't actually earning a Gjallarhorn in my opinion. Because they are buying it with a rare currency, said currency is worthless and the pricing is dumbfounding. Disclaimer: I'm not an elitist. I'm very happy that everyone has a Gjallarhorn. -blam!- Xur I spend the night grinding up to 28 on a new character to get the last 6 coins I needed on my psn account to get the F ing Gally and finally got em just in time for reset! Thanks also Bungie for getting my 9 coins for registering a week late! Seriously not sure why I grind in this -blam!-ing game Who ever though Xur leaving at reset on Saturdat night / Sunday 2am was a good idea is a -blam!-ing dick! Thanks again Bungie! €¥£%}~

Remember this day/weekend... When the gally completely lost its luster. It's all down hill from here.

Coming from someone that didn't have a galley before xûr sold it (me) I'm actually kinda mad. I wanted to earn my ghorn. Just like you have to earn fatebringer, thorn, black hammer, and the list can go on and on. I was pretty mad that xûr sold it, and I might be dismantling my ghorn soon. If xûr sells icebreaker tho, I will not be buying it. I will earn that gun. EDIT: and I'm not saying I don't diserve the ghorn. I play as much as the next guy. But, I wanted mine to drop, not be bought.

A few hours left.. Get those Gallys...

I will say congrats to those players that have been grinding for ghorn from the start you earned it. However here's my take. The main problem I have is how Bungie wants to destroy or weaken everything that was year one. It's not that I'm upset everyone will have ghorn because they can buy it from xur but we all know this was a strategic move from Bungie and that xur isn't random or autonomous. The move feels like Bungie is saying you're no longer going to cling to your guns we control things move on from the coveted ghorn amongst other year one things. The issue I have is how Bungie doesn't want any "exotic" weapons in the game that could potentially be rare or a step above powerful. And I'm talking about this in the PVE world obviously I don't think there should be an overly powerful weapon in PVP. So basically they should get rid of the exotic class IMO if that is their philosophy. It would be nice to have exotics in this game that are truly exotic and exotic weapons should all be acquired through bounties. I think the better the exotic the harder to acquire through bounty for instance just off the top of my head something like must have three level 34 characters and 750 hours played to get the Ghorn bounty. That way it would be accessible to everyone but still rare. I don't think Xur should sell any weapons maybe just armor and ammo etc. because honestly bounties can be fun and there should be more of them.

Good point on 4 and 5 but it really takes two seconds to switch weapons specially when you have it planned so you can just swap it fast by having the legendary primary in the first inventory slot and same with the exotic heavy of your choice. Which should obviously be Truth and not Gally.

Im just glad i have one on each character now and can be lazy about weapon switching between characters.
