It's pretty simple: Bungie realized many people started going to other games so to lure them back before ttk, he sold it. They'll probably get more sales now because people are returning to the game and will now buy ttk. Pretty simple stuff that no one even sees. Why else would he sell the gun that will break the game, because they're nerfing the shit out of it in a month
Edit: Do I think Xur should have sold it, no. Was it smart from a business standpoint to sell it, yes. Bungie didn't sell it to please people, they did it for the $$

1 ReplyPretty narrow window to justify your reasoning...

I figured it was sold because a new heavy weapon will out class gallerhorn as the new holy grail of Destiny

2 RepliesGlad people that didn't have one can now get one, but yes, this is purely a response to people giving up on the game until TTK. Gotta reel them in someway. Not that it is, but it still feels like a panic button move.

2 RepliesEdited by Cookiem0nster63: 8/14/2015 2:13:35 PMI like to think they did it bc the games changing in a big way so as one last hurrah for the vanilla destiny they through everyone a bone. Nice to see they at least still care about us Edit: HEZENS4LYFE

This exactly... I predicted this a long time ago. If the player base ever dropped and they needed to bump it back up, Gjallarhorn would be sold, and it has. It really doesn't bother me too much, this game is not about making you feel unique or special, even if we wished it was...

1 ReplySo I company is using business tactics that every business uses to reel more customers in? Shame on them.

This ^ Bungievision are pathetic, if you don't think they set what Xur sells either you're deluded.

Edited by Azreal80: 8/14/2015 1:05:56 PMExactly. I also predicted this months ago. It would not be sold until player numbers dipped low enough and Activision wanted to build them back up and hype up TTK. And look what we now have.

Don't care, the Xur argument is old and annoying

It's funny they just want to nerf it, not change its niche. They got upset that people made exclusive groups for bosses and demanded the weapon that's specifically for single target boss kills. Rather than nerf it to the point that legendaries and competitive with it they could have simple changed its role from single target to AoE by changing the perk. Imagine if Wolfpack rounds spawned on kills? Shoot a rocket into a crowd of 3 dregs and 3 captains. The 3 dregs die to the initial rocket and 21 Wolfpack rounds spawn from their corpse *7 from each* to attack the 3 remaining captains. It would be like double tapping those captains with a normal rocket while still putting Gjallarhorn on the level with other launchers for single target bosses. Personally I'd still use Gjallarhorn to clear mobs and imo it would be a far better/more effective change then just nerfing it.

Bingo. Great marketing scheme. Such a joke but great move all in one.
