As far as I've read, it seems the community is not all to thrilled with Gjally being sold. This, of course, could simply be the loud minority and most of you are actually thrilled the elusive launcher is being sold. I personally am elated- due to a trip away from home, I may miss the chance to purchase the launcher. I'm still thrilled. No longer will raids and other endgame content be locked to my friends. Don't get me wrong- I understand that Gjally is basically a luxury car or a giant trophy to hang on the wall- a symbol of wealth and of completion, and that has been effectively stripped from it.
Edit: spelling
Edit 2: On a completely separate note, thinking about trying my luck for ruin wings, Nothing Manacles, or Don't Touch Me. Is the risk worth the motes, or should I save them for TTK?

thank god for friends when away from the game for a weekend, and Xûr brings something worthwhile. Serious thank you for that one
I originally got mine off crota, so I didn't have to buy it. I for 1 am thrilled he is selling it so no one can be elitist snobs and say "must have gjallarhorn" or any variations of that when looking for a group.
-
2 RepliesWhy I'm angry he's selling it: I went through months of disappointment trying to get one. Being kicked out of fireteams, killing Crota over and over again. Atheon as well as all the nightfall's. Week after week, the same thing: disappointment. Then I finally got one through a nightfall, Omnigul arc burn. By any logical standards, I earned my Gjallarhorn. And I view strange coins as having minual value, they are worthless. They are a rare currency for goodness sake. And we are buying the mighty Gjallarhorn with the same currency and around the same price as we'd buy the No Land Beyond. This frustrates me. Why I'm happy he's selling it: Now PvE will be that much easier.

since we found its becoming useless soon, i think everyone should have a chance to use it as is. Besides, i got a shiny new queenbreakers bow now. most people dont have that so im happy ive still got a rare exotic.
-
Glad I can finally retire my gjallarhorn and use a different weapon now that everyone has it
-
5 RepliesI feel like it just ruins your personal experience of the game. You'll never get that "holy crap I just got the gjallarhorn" moment now that xur had sold it. And I'll tell ya, it's one of the best feelings in this entire game. Should people still be excited to get their first gjallarhorn from xur? Sure go for it. But feeling awestruck as you see that golden icon drop to the right of your screen is simply... Priceless
-
2 RepliesI'm happy all my friends can have one as well, this game is supposed to be fun, not elitist.
-
Everybody has ghorn, what's their to hate? Year 1 players will now be able to feel the power of ghorn in all its glory before the nerf.
-
Don't care. I have even have it and I got the coins to get it. I rather them on other important stuff
-
Everyone should have it!
-
Too many people in raids shut out players without gally let it be for everyone
-
I've played since day one and the beta and I finally got it.
-
1 ReplyI'm glad Xur sold it and I had Gjallarhorn since pretty much the beginning. I can't remember if I bought my first one or not because it wasn't a thing back then. I've since had 5+ drop by RNG and kept 3 of them. "Earning" and "Xurning" are silly words to use when describing Destiny's loot system. The only items I could imagine being salty about being sold would be those exclusive to an activity. Like say if Vex or the adept trials weapons were available for purchase, lol, but that'd be dumb. Anyway, dry your tears guardians. Especially if they're tears of joy. You won't be able to see those sick wolves on your new toy!
-
2 RepliesNow no one can complain they can't get teams to help since they have the chance to get one
-
2 RepliesThrilled is too far more like I don't give a shit
-
I earned mine through nightfalls, but If a noob comes along, he can just buy it by doing a weekly heroic.
-
I'm just a bit disappointed my one annoying squeaker friend got one. He always brags about everything he buys from Xûr to me, even though I have everything...

Don't give a rats ass anymore.. I was already using other exotics in pve because I got bored of gally. LoW is a dps machine. They probably sold it because there's going to be something better in ttk lol
-
Thrilled
-
Haha those poll results.
-
Thrilled because I have been playing since midnight release, gotten every exotic and Gally was always the one to elude me. I'd had rng drop literally every weapon atleast 3 times and Gally would never drop. I'd grind and grind and grind to no avail and I'm pretty positive I'll never get an rng one. So yes Gally is a godsend to finally have after being a dedicated player to this fine game. Too bad there's so many selfish immature gamers on these forum that just can't appreciate a good game.

5 RepliesEdited by AssultKitteh: 8/15/2015 12:15:29 AMIf everyone has it, it loses value. I'm economics it's called inflation. When too much money (or in this case Gjallarhorn) is in circulation, it goes down in value because of the excess amount. If 9/10 people own a Gjallarhorn, it doesn't have the same appeal or value if only 3/10 people have it.
Statistics I used are examples
Edit- Apparently I need to clarify things. 1- I know there is an indefinite amount of potential exotic drops. 2- This has nothing to do with a trading economy 3- I know this does not affect the weapons statistics 4- What this does affect is the feel of the item. There's nothing special about it if everyone has one, which brings me to the "TLDR" part of this. TLDR- There's nothing special about owning it if everyone has it, thus value goes down.

5 RepliesNo more lfg elitism!

Gally was sold!? Hahahahahahahaha awesome!

It's nice to see that only 18% of this community are retarded.

Im sad that its going to get nerfed and my friends who just got it wont have the fun i had, and we wont have the fun we could've had with gally :(
