Why are YOU upset Gjally is being sold?
As far as I've read, it seems the community is not all to thrilled with Gjally being sold. This, of course, could simply be the loud minority and most of you are actually thrilled the elusive launcher is being sold. I personally am elated- due to a trip away from home, I may miss the chance to purchase the launcher. I'm still thrilled. No longer will raids and other endgame content be locked to my friends. Don't get me wrong- I understand that Gjally is basically a luxury car or a giant trophy to hang on the wall- a symbol of wealth and of completion, and that has been effectively stripped from it.

[spoiler]Edit 2: On a completely separate note, thinking about trying my luck for ruin wings, Nothing Manacles, or Don't Touch Me. Is the risk worth the motes, or should I save them for TTK?[/spoiler]

I'm pleasantly surprised at how high the percentage is for thrilled. It shows the crybabies are the minority at least.

I chose other because I don't care either way. I think if it means more people are enjoying their experience and that it makes the people that have grinded since day one and never got one happy then I'm for it.

I'm not bothered at all. I already had two, one from VoG chest and one from NF. I helped myself to a third so all characters had one. I'm happy everyone had the opportunity to have one before the nerf :)

I personally already had a gally. But my brother and best friend have played the game about as long as I have. Have done the grind. Have done the nightfalls, have done the raids. And they can't ever seem to get it. I am happy for those who have tried and tried and tried and can FINALLY get rewarded. I will not say it is a bad thing. And for those who haven't grinded like I did to get it, I am so happy you didn't have to! It was a PAIN IN THE ***.

Being upset about Gally being sold is disassociated with how easy exotics are to obtain in other activities. Most of the kids raging about Xur are the first to bitch when the Nightfall doesn't have a burn or takes more than ten minutes. Blasting through a laughably easy burn Nightfall in a few minutes and receiving an exotic is more "welfare" than buying from Xur.

4 RepliesNot really upset it's being sold. Just kinda sad people won't experience the same feelings myself and many others had. I'm sure your experience was similar to mine. It's reset time. You ask your friends , "Hey guys, wanna do nightfall?" Your friends lazily say sure since there isn't much else to do. You and your friends drone through the nightfall like robots. You've done the strike over a hundred times. You're not expecting anything good. You're pretty much only doing this for the rep and xp boost. You beat the nightfall and go back to checking your phone, not even wondering what your reward is. Then you hear your friends say "Oh my god, DUDE WHAT THE -blam!-" You look up wondering why they're going crazy. You missed the reward display in the bottom corner after beating the strike. You start asking "What?? What happened? Did you get something good?" The reward screen finally loads in. And there you see it. You finally got that damn gjallahorn. Drop mic. Run around screaming your head off. You had given up on getting this item months ago. And there it is. I'll never forget that feeling. It was amazing. I'm happy people finally get to experience the greatness that is the gjallahorn, but I can't help but feel that feeling I had was permanently taken away from those people. Oh well.

I was ecstatic to pick it up, but now that its maxed, I understand the feeling that's its op. Because it is. Its removed much of the challenge from everything I usually do. For that reason, I quickly set it aside for emergencies, and went back to my trusty Icebreaker. Gotta keep the skills up!

There won't be any more trash talking and annoying elitists on the forums saying "must have gally or no join" etc etc. it also gives everyone the chance before it gets nerfed to feel the true power of it! Although Guardians who did purchase it from Xur will miss out on that enormous excitement and feeling of "I finally got it" when the gally dropped for the first time after hours upon hours of game time like it did for me. So good on bungie for letting Xur have a few gally's in stock for the weekend.
