Over the years Sony and Microsoft have dominated the console market. With the release of the PS4 and Xbox One, many people overlook the Wii-U. Today you will learn why you should un-friendzone the Wii-U. You should consider a Wii-U for its price, its performance, its exclusives, and its hardware.
-Price
Our first subject is price. While the Playstation 4 and Xbox One float between $350-400, the Wii-U stays at $300 brand new. Along with this low console price comes sales. The e-shop has much better deals on games than PS store or the Xbox store. Along with cheaper hardware and games, playing online is free on the Wii-U.
-Performance
The second reason why you should get a Wii-U is the performance. While most games on the PS4 and Xbox One play at 900p and sometimes 1080p, the Wii-U always plays in full 1080p. The Wii-U also pushed 60fps on almost every game. The only game that comes to mind that doesn't run at 60fps is Windwaker HD. It runs at 30fps because it's running on a GameCube engine. The engine forces it to play at 30fps. This is actually impressive considering how hard cell shading is to render. Take Borderlands for example. It's very hard to maintain a good frame rate on Borderlands because it's very graphically demanding. The Wii-U is running an open world game on a 10 year old game engine with a massive render distance in full 1080p. I wouldn't expect 1080p 60fps on a game that demanding. The Playstation 4 has very few titles that run at 60fps. The Last Of Us and a few more are examples.
-Exclusives
The third reason that you should get a Wii-U is its exclusives. Most every game on the Wii-U is an exclusive. So many Nintendo classics in full 1080p 60fps. Go back to a time when you could all just sit on the couch and play Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and so much more. If you don't like the games out now, you can always buy from the virtual console section of the e-Shop. All of your favorite games all in one place. In the graph above are the number of games released for the Wii-U vs the PS4 and Xbox One.
-Hardware
The last reason you should buy a Wii-U is its hardware. The Wii-U has a lot of power inside. It's got a killer GPU and its flash storage makes running out of space a thing of the past. On the other consoles you have to buy another hard drive when you run out of space. On the Wii-U you only have to buy an SD Card. SD Cards are faster and cheaper than hard drives. The Wii-U's controller has many wonderful features. The game pad is comfortable and very convenient. If you don't feel up to turning on the TV, just grab the game pad. If you need an extra controller, just use the game pad.
These are just a few reasons you should consider the Wii-U.

1 ReplyI love my Wii U. I wish I had more games for it though.

1 ReplyYou should really check the facts first before writing a persuasive essay on this. Hardware wise the wiiU can barely compete with the Xbox 360 and PS3 in fact it is still using tech from the GameCube. The wiiU can't even come close to competing with the current gen consoles and third party games almost never get ported. The few games that did get ported ran very poorly compared to the other consoles. One last thing remember this is a persuasive essay so to those that aren't even interested in nintendo exclusive games don't mean much. Instead use the fact the wiiU is the perfect family console for adults with young kids. This console isn't really for the hardcore gamers but instead used to relax with friends and family after dinner time.

2 RepliesThat is a lot of effort for what is clear trolling/joke post. I actually agree that the wii u is a fantastic machine, for anyone who isn't already bored with the Nintendo rehashes, but saying it's got the best hardware and crap like that is obviously something not even the most deluded fanboy could believe.

2 RepliesI don't like how you started off each of the middle paragraphs with the first second and last reason. Too bland for me.

5 RepliesEdited by ToiletToads: 8/14/2015 6:20:13 AMI have a Wii U and I love it. Main reason: its fun. I stopped taking gaming seriously a while ago, and its the only console that lets me beat up Olimar with a laser canon arm, which is exactly what I want. In my opinion, it looks better. Obviously the graphics aren't on par with the other options, but I don't see why that matters when the other consoles just offer extremely high quality graphics of gray and brown. Theres no imagination with the art in PS4 or Xbox games. Mario Kart 8 was the best looking game in years. Wii U is cheaper, has the games I want to play, and lets me actually play with people in the same room as me. It's the best option for me. That said, its clearly lacking in power and third party games compared to anything else. And it's worth noting that OPs picture is already two years old.

1 ReplyNintendo is the only console I buy for exclusives. I think a lot of us old guys realized this shortly after the gamecube came out. Get yourself a Nintendo console for first part titles and grab a Xbox or PlayStation for the third parties. Uncharted and Halo are just bonuses. Can't wait for Super Mario Maker, endless Mario levels are worth every penny.

1 ReplyEdited by Skyrender6: 8/14/2015 3:36:48 AMI'm really sorry but that wasn't very convincing. Considering that the Wii U is running on last gen technology, it's games better run at 60 frames and 1080p--it's the least Nintendo can do if it's going to have online components that are about as old fashioned as a Sega Genesis XBand. Hell, considering that only ONE exclusive game on the Wii U is an original IP (Nintendo's first, by the way, since -blam!-ing PIKMIN back in 2002), I would feel cheated to be perfectly honest. There used to be two, but UbiSoft hated the fact that they weren't making any money on the Wii U and are now porting ZombiU. Now I know it sounds like I'm shitting on Nintendo badly but I really do enjoy their systems. As a matter of fact I think Super Nintendo and GameCube are the best and second-best systems ever made, respectively. But there's no way to imply that the Wii U is objectively better than XBone or PS4. Nintendo stumbled hard this generation and they need to pick it up. They lost a lot of hardcore fans with the Wii and they're losing a lot more with this one. Edit: Oh my God, Wind Waker HD STILL runs at 30 frames? That's insane!!!
