Please tell me. I'd LOVE to see the reasoning behind that executive decision to nerf the MOST USED GUN IN EVERY PVP EVER. Who the -blam!- nerfs auto rifles AT ALL? Auto rifles are the backbone of infantry. Nerf those and you nerf the player. What kind of -blam!-ing idiot wanted the auto rifles nerfed? They were never op at all! I could understand the range nerf a little bit but the damage was not the -blam!-ing problem. Worst decision I have ever seen a pvp developer make and that's saying something. I've seen a lot of -blam!-ing mistakes (for example, in Killzone Shadow Fall multiplayer, spawn camping was the worst because you couldn't shoot out of your shield that you spawned behind so you were trapped or CoD practically rewarding noobs for quickscoping).
Restore auto rifles to their former glory or at least make them usable again. Literally the only usable auto rifle now is Monte Carlo and even that is hardly worth using. I forgot whether or not bungie is buffing them in the next update but this NEEDS to happen. And to those that wanted them nerfed. -blam!- YOU and git gud

2 RepliesCuz the where "overused" best logic ever

2 RepliesI was using AR before and after the nerf in PvP Hard Light is by far my favorite weapon in this game. I'm extremely happy that AR are getting a buff + Hardlight is getting extra stability and range can't wait.
-
PvP players wanted them nerfed
-
Because Bungie is full of d*ck sucking fags that don't play their own F'ING game. Deej pull Activisions dlc out of your arse you fat tub of puss.
-
Actually the semi automatic rifle is the backbone of the infantry. M4, hybrid scout/pulse rifle, standard issue.
-
I think nerfs as a way to allow players to use other weapons besides the one you use all the time. Example gelly nerf and Necro new buff
-
Because players got really skilled with them thus leading to crying for a nerf from whiners is a endless cycle new weapons will be out with the new dlc and they will be nerfed in time just like the ARs did
-
Because they got used more than any gun which is common is fps games hell any game with shooting
-
Auto rifles were nerfed because the stats show that they were being used more than anything else, same reason handcannons are getting nerfed now. Of course, I think they missed some factors. The data was shown right after an iron banner, which at the time had a bounty for getting headshot kills with autos. So you got lots of players using autos, and they chose the Suros to do it, which is the other reason for the nerf. Even in normal crucible, Suros was about as prevalent as thorn is now. The focus fire perk lets people negate recoil and make every hit a headshot, and get healed in the process. The gun was a very unbalanced thing, and was suitably popular. Other autos seemed to be fine. I think they nerfed all autos in order to reign in the Suros, after seeing IB inflated numbers.

Edited by hyperbolichippo: 8/14/2015 1:00:16 AM"Auto rifles are the backbone of infantry" Um... No. The most used gun in the US military is a semi automatic rifle. But auto rifles shouldn't have been nerfed
-
1 ReplyI can still get best around using the suros. Granted not all the time. Not bragging at all but the gun is only part of it. If you rely on the gun to get kills then you're only half assing it
-
9 RepliesThey were nerfed because of the same cry babies that are currently crying over thorn, tlw, and hawkmoon.
-
What kind of -blam!-ing idiot wanted the auto rifles nerfed?
The idiot that plays crucible......
-
6 RepliesBecause SUROS Regime use to be what thorn is today
-
To many people complained about it, and Bungie's numbers showed that everyone was only using suros and other auto rifles in crucible (they don't want one gun type clearly better than the rest, which is what I am hoping will be the case with 2.0).
-
2 RepliesBecause someone looked at some charts and drew inaccurate conclusions and then the design team decided to go scorched earth on the class instead of actually solving the problems?
-
Because PvP and PvE are played using the SAME weapons. Oh, and people like to cry to Bungie. "I don't have this gun, and keep getting killed by it. Please nerf it."
-
1 ReplyDid you play pvp before they were nerfed? If you did, and you still don't know why, I don't know what to tell you.
-
They were overrunning PvP and Bungie went full-rtard and nerfed them to Oblivion hahaha
-
Same reason there nurfing IB, just something to do.
-
Hey buddy just a quick question. Where you here when you saw a suros regime on the enemy's team and you said crap we lost. If not then please stop. They nerf auto rifles because of that very core reason. People used auto rifles the most in PvP no hand cannons no pulse rifles. Hell I even used this rare weapon with slower fire but bigger damage. When you could. But they saw that pulse rifles were not being used so they needed to nerf auto rifles. And buffed pulse rifles. So that effect made what we have today hand cannons everywhere.
-
Some whiners from way back when....not the current whiners mind you.
-
Suros. But instead of fixing one exotic they ran the entire class into the ground. The same is happening to hand cannons.
-
Because xur sold suros regime early on in game and everyone had it so they nerfed autorifles for the 1st time then a 2nd time because people was still using suros because it was a beast of an autorifle but thanks to xur and bungie all autorifles became dog doo

2 RepliesEdited by Misfyre: 8/12/2015 8:50:56 PMFirst nerf was because they were overpowered. Second nerf was because of PvE and PvP overuse. They don't care about anything you post relating to the meta on the forums. They look at statistics and make educated decisions based on that information. They were balanced after the first nerf but overused because of how easy they were to dominate with.
