PS3 PS4 Taken King
For the Taken King expansion...
What is the best approach for the players that play on both the PS3 and PS4?
Should we purchase the expansion/upgrade for the PS3 and hope they offer the same free upgrade path for the PS4?

It's unlikely that it will be made a part of the Digital Upgrade Program. You can keep hoping and purchase for PS3, but I would recommend purchasing for whichever platform you play on primarily.
