Titan defender - warlock self Rez - hunter blade dancer - going RIGHT at the start
1. Kill all adds
2. Hunter kills servitors while others keep track of skolas - damage skolas on servitors confirmed kill
3. Repeat
4. Poison - kill adds - time poison on exchange to under ten second callouts
5. Keep track of skolas health and allow supers to build timing his health with adds spawning
6. After adds killed and all supers built up- damage skolas to trigger mines
7. After mines trigger give poison to warlock
8.Blade dancers takes furthers mine while invisible
9. Titan holds middle mine with bubble
10. Warlock holds right side mine - but must kill himself (allow poison timer to run out) then use self Rez - this allows the poison to be taken out of the game for the duration of the mines
11. Repeat
Very long and boring strategy but guranteed to work for anyone :)
Edit: go RIGHT platform not left

Playing skolas with randoms is a lottery, and usually doesn't go well for me. I've beaten it with the same guy twice, and once with 2 squeakers (no kidding, these kids were awesome). The other few times I've tried I get randoms who die like every 2 minutes or decide to shoot at skolas when no one else is. There should be...idk. intelligence based match making or something. But yeah, melting skolas' face off and then defusing 2nd mine wave Is the way to go. To bad the guys earlier didn't seem to understand this, lol.

I always go left. Right is a death zone

Are people still playing POE :-)

I do 35 PoE 3 times every week and try to beat my speed run times, did one earlier today and my team is 21st in the world. which is good considering there use to be burns on skolas boss fight. http://destinytracker.com/destiny/speedruns/all/time?page=1&activity=2326253031

1 ReplyPoE overall is boring, I think each challenge should have 3 rounds while Skolas has 4. Just remove the 2nd & 3rd round from each challenge.

Word. It usually goes like this: 1) Go left, take out servitor, break bonds 2) Move right, synthesis, kill ads, mines 3) Group moves together, bubble or no 4) Regroup, primary Skolas to the O 5) Kill Skolas, dismantle mines. No poison deaths. 10 minutes or less.

1 ReplyThis is my strategy. Works well. Just needs timing and communication.

1 ReplyMy group has done the same basic strategy with a couple small tweaks: We usually go left at the start, kill that servitor, burn skolas then run right when he gets close. After that we rotate clockwise staying on the outside of the map when we start to get overwhelmed. We probably spend 75% of our time on the right platform, and it is where we always stand when we activate the mines, but rotating around the maps thins out the ads when they get a little overwhelming. Note: Always stay on the outside of the map and rotate the same direction. If you change direction you'll end up running through all the ads that just followed you from the other side. Titan (or second warlock) takes the far side mine, by staying along the outside of the map going clockwise they are usually safe running to the other side. Hunter takes the middle mine, because he's invisible it's easier for him to make it through the ads. Alternately, depending on how good your hunter is: We just let the hunter get both the middle and far side mine. We trigger mines as soon as the hunter gives away the poison, that way the other two are together to take the poison, and dismantle that mine before the hunter gets back.

Thanks I will give this a try, have yet to beat him

5 RepliesYeah that's true it's actually easy to beat him but I think the rewards you get after are shit, I mean who is gonna use a weapon with shank burn?

1 ReplyI want to thank you for this post friend. My brothers and I have gotten close to finishing Skolas but usually wipe once he gets close to a quarter of health. Everything that could go wrong usually does. We'd pretty much given up on killing him till after The Taken King raises our level again. We don't really care whether we get the year one emblem or not. But thanks to your strategy here I'm pretty sure I can talk them into a couple more tries. I'm probably the best in my little clan, I regularly solo the nightfall and Crota's End, but I couldn't help them with Skolas and that's disheartening for a clan leader. The only thing I'll have to work on is substituting the class, I primarily run Warlock and I'm also a fairly good Titan (adequate as a Hunter). While my brothers primarily run Hunter's, they aren't too good with the other classes so I can count out blessings or weapons of light. But again, thank you very much.

8 RepliesEdited by KGODSMACKC: 8/11/2015 1:02:04 PMDoes the poison really get eliminated after the warlock kills himself with it?? Thx for the tips

1 ReplyApparently a lot of people think he needs to be nerfed even more I can't imagine those people killing actuall hard bosses in other games the bosses in this game are a joke

At least it won't be small arms this week. Makes it quicker.

I wish Skolas was harder to beat

Thank you :)
