At the very least give you an option to choose an element during the upgrade. Once you choose the element it can't be changed. So like for example if you choose solar for the MIDA then its final. You could always get another and choose a different element. Reason I mention the MIDA is because it's a multi tool. Figured it would make sense. The hard light would make sense to be arc. I agree with this post.

I think the mida should be able to hold all burns (but switchable, like Murmur) to make it a unique and true jack of all trades. It would be awesome flavourwise. Hard light should be ark. Thorn should be void after collecting all those void ashes in crucible. Last word should be solar to represent its wild-west-nature. I think bungie missed out on a lot of flavour on this part :( .... Sadly

Yea I agree. It would've been nice to have these things available. Would use them a lot more.
