Thorn Bounty Needs Nerfed
So I'm playing through trying to get the thorn, (obviously) and I realized something. The thorn is good, but it's not that good. Also before you say, "well you don't have it, so you don't know it's not good." I have played with it on a friends account. Anyways the part of the bounty that needs nerfed would be the crucible part (in my opinion no exotic bounty should force you to have to get on crucible, because some people really don't enjoy pvp) that whole part of the bounty shouldn't exist, but since it probably always will allow me to say, the thorn isn't good enough for 500 guardian light things. For those of you who don't know you need to kill at least 100 people without dying WITH VOID damage, 100 people being the minimum, each kill you gets gives you 5 points and every time you die you lose 2. The thorn is worth AT THE MAX 250 points, or should I say, "was worth" because now they are nerfing the thorn so now I think 150 AT THE MAX would be a fair amount of points. Reasons why: 1. The thorn for sure isn't good enough for 500 points
2. Bungie is nerfing it so they automatically should nerf the bounty since it's no longer as good.
3. You're forcing players to get on crucible to get a gun, when many people don't play crucible and not only are you forcing them to do that, you're forcing them to use void damage to get their points.
So seriously Bungie, what were you thinking when you made that bounty? What exactly went through your mind that day?

It needs to be buffed, I did it al level 28 and the cap was 30 back then The strike part needs to be buffed to 30

1 Reply1. You DONT know how good it is. So what if you've played with it once? Its a guaranteed two shot head shot. It should be hard to get. 2. It is a gun literally made for crucible. Why would you play PvE for a PvP gun 3. Literally anyone can do the thorn bounty even if they're bad at crucible. All you have to do is camp. You just sound like you're terrible at this game and want things to be easier

Been a while since I saw someone complaining about the Thorn bounty… not like this or the other thousand + complaints will do much to change it. Just think, if you worked through to get an exotic and then suddenly it was made easier to get then it already was, wouldn't you feel ripped off?

Thorn.. you get 2 consecutive headshots on somebody and the burn will finish them off. What other exotic you know can peirce through targets and go through others, burns them, and insane range and accuracy, and can kill in 2 headshots? This weapon bounty should be alot harder to get. Like 2000 points. Of each element. So 6000 points total of having some positive kdrs. That would make it fair and people would definitely earn it. This weapon is deadly powerful and deserves to be harder to get. Not just 500 points. I can do that in less than 2 hours of play time with bathroom breaks

Make a warlock and its easy as shit why are you complaining about a task in the game that isn't hey go here shoot this use this on that door congrats that's the game. Its also not the only way you can get it so why complain about the bounty itself? Idk I thought it was fun to do and felt satisfied once I finished it. Getting those points in crucible isn't hard either. Just be cheap AF for a little while

As good as hunters are, they have the worst time with thorn bounty. No void subclass atm. So I cant use grenades, super, or melee to get points. At least defender can use grenades, voidwalker can use supers, grenades, and melee. And all this void damage to get a [b]KINETIC[/b] gun? Wtf? Make more void exotics, and accually good pvp void primaries. Aetheons epiloge and word of crota suck in pvp. And other void primaries require rng and skolas completion or flawless in trials. This bounty was [b]WAY[/b] too hard, and there is no reason to make it void damage.

If not the top gun in crucible (for majority of players not the best for [i]my play style[/i] but for the general population) because of this Thorn should have been the ghorn of Crucible. Make it very hard to get. If this gun was rare. And I mean super rare. Imagine how different this game would be. If instead of the majority base players having this gun. Very few would. Yes people would complain but it wouldn't be a fewed as epidemic. That might not be fair...but life isn't fair. Not even the things we enjoy. No one deserves to have everything or be able to get everything in any aspect. There should always be an equal [i]opportunity[/i] to acquire something but that doesn't mean everyone [i]can or will[/i] cash in.

You can make the same argument in reverse. Players who turn in Crucible bounties and get Exotic Bounties have to do PvE to get them the majority of the time Having 2 bounties each have a single PvP step isn't that outrageous. They should probably get rid of the part where dying subtracts from your total, but other than that they don't need to change it too drastically.

1 ReplyI hated the crucible part of this bounty with a passion. I mean, -blam!-ing loathed doing it. Didn't matter to me that I got the bounty on my Warlock and had pretty decent void gear. It was the most unenjoyable thing I've ever done in this game. But nerfing anything is stupid. It's supposed to be hard. Here's what I did: [spoiler]I camped with a void shotgun near special ammo crates[/spoiler] That's my secret. Enemies would just come running around a corner and then WHAMMO. Warlock melees helped, but not really. Nova Bomb was usually only good for 1 kill at a time. Most people don't stay bunched up for too long. It took me all weekend to complete. There were many times I tried to tear my controller in half. These controller bend quite a bit without breaking. I also started quitting games if things weren't working out for me. I didn't give a shit about how my team was doing. Completing the bounty should be your #1 priority. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

Shut up dude its an exotic a god Damn exotic, if you can't get 500 points you just suck. I got it in about 5 to 6 games. People were posting this like 5 months ago and nothing has happened since so stop wasting your time on the forums.

It is fine. I have done it 3 times and I am not a great PvP player. The invective bounty requires PvP and so does Bad JuJu. It is part of the game. I did the first 2 with a fusion rifle and the 3rd with word of crota.
