purchase faction shaders
make them purchasable. increment reputation level requirements like Eris (5, 10, 15, for example), charge 200 vanguard and 200 crucible marks each.
edit: the 5/10/15 scale was just an example (see how it says "for example"?). obviously you would want higher ranks to validate your commitment to a faction and also show off how much you've been grinding. right now, you can get one at rank 6 because you got lucky. but if you had to get to rank 50 [b]to be eligible to buy one[/b], you'd instantly show off how much reputation you earned for a faction simply by having that shader.
edit: combined lvl 55 i finally got the hanged man... now i can actually represent Dead Orbit as if i'd been wearing their faction class armor for hundreds of hours and now pledged to them since TTK! #stilldoesntmakesense

Every shader we've ever gotten will be unlocked in her inventory and the ones we don't have will also be there with a hint at how to get it. They've said that they're leaving it less to RNG and more to us completing certain tasks to obtain things. They've also said RNG will be more geared to the class and not just a shot in the dark for anything Some changes are kinda exciting Sucks that there's new ships on the way though, I want the old ones! What they should do is when something is replaced allow us to buy the old stuff from the respective vendor

I'm level 76 in DO and have 3 shaders (missing hanged man and the ship). I agree they should be purchasable based on faction rank level...should have to achieve considerable rank before they are sold though to keep them meaningful.

Lord Saladin, Eris Morn and Petra Venj sell shaders at a predetermined level. They're simply cosmetic, and allow players to show dedication to said factions. Putting shaders up for purchase after having achieved a certain level or requiring to do a specific task to unlock these shaders might make the factions relevant again.

Rank 57 DO, not a single shader or ship yet. Game is short on defined goals and long on hoping to get lucky.

Should be able to purchase, or they unlock every five ranks. As it stands, the drop rate is ridiculous and simply gives you what you already have, or motes and coins.
