You can't upgrade year 1 weapons...
ALL year 1 weapons can NOT be upgraded to the level of the new Taken King weapons... Yup thats right I just wasted a butt-ton of hours getting all the best gear now it's completely useless. In an interview with IGN DeeJ said that all year 1 weapons will only be useful when playing year 1 content (VoG, CE, PoE, ToO) making all new and veteran players happy... Are you serious there is NO reason to play year 1 content if you already have everything. The Take King has screwed over every year 1 player. Destiny is a complete joke. Whats the point of getting the new Taken King gear if its going to become obsolete. If you choose to keep playing Destiny have fun wasting your time! Lots of Desticles defending Bungie, have fun playing this sorry excuse for a game :) to those saying thats how MMOs work. Massive Multiplayer Online. The most players that can do a single event in destiny is 6... thats hardly massive. The tower can fit more but there is no reason to interact (lack of trading, in game recruiting etc.) Destiny is more of an MO. It's certainly not an MMO

Honestly, i agree with most of this, in my opinion, they should at least make the raid gear ascendable so the current raids dont become obsolete to the point that no one even does them anymore because the gear is much weaker

Obviously most people playing destiny have no real knowledge of how rpgs work. All weapons and gear become obsolete after awhile. All the elder scrolls games, the witcher series, WoW, you don't use a level 1 weapon when your lvl 20. Yes there are certain weapons and armor you can continually upgrade but do you really want to use a fatebringer for the rest of your destiny life. I love the gun but damn I'm sure there will be better weapons to come and armor. I just don't understand why people are freaking out about this. Year one was basically an experiment, things will get better over time. -blam!- a fatebringer if there are more weapons to take its place. It's not the end of the world, there will be better weapons to come. They aren't breaking or ruining the game they are advancing it to become what it should be. Albeit small steps towards a true fps mmo, it will get there. There is a MULTI-YEAR contract for this game, so why would you want to use a gun you got on your first raid 2 weeks after the first installment of the series came out. Quit crying, and just enjoy the game.

6 RepliesI love how people are acting as if the old weapons are going to be automatically deleted or banned in TTK. Lmao. You can still you ALL of your old gear, you just won't have the MAXIMUM damage/stats. So people are getting all butt hurt because they will have to shoot something a few more times. Not to mention the fact that the new end game content will require you to use the gear you have now to get the new gear (another reason why your gear isn't unless). Sooooooo many crybabies on these forums.

1 ReplyThis game is amazingly. Yes it has problems but they work on them. And your last button about call of duty being better than destiny is ridiculous. Every year a new call of duty comes out and guess what you don't keep your stuff from the last year. All the time to Prestige and guess what next year you start and lvl 1. And call of duty ruins their guns every year. The taken King looks amazing and can't wait to play with all the new weapons and gear.

Most MMO's usually only have 6-24 people for endgame activities, the only reason destiny wasn't on the higher end of that spectrum was last gen console
