I respect those who got thorn, the quest for it is brutal, especially now that I have to fight those who already got it for any scrap of void kills. However even as I try to get it I am glad it's getting nerfed for the pain of dying at its beautiful hands quicker than most most any primary. It feels like right now it's a secondary as far as damage, but with a primaries ammo.
So do I hate it? Kind of, I just think it needs some tweaking to be balanced. As a reward for 500+ kills with void weapons, it should stay good, I just need a fighting chance if I'm ever going to get my own.

Hand cannons were initially special weapons so that explains your feeling.

Are you serious? The require is basically "get a positive kd for x amount of games"
-
Not really Keep a kd ratio higher than X COUNTING ONLY VOID KILLS (but all deaths) If you don't have a VOID primary then that is hard to maintain. Especially if you are a Hunter which has no void powers yet. If you have a void primary (raid drop) then it's not bad so long as you aren't horrible

Edited by Calmassis: 8/8/2015 2:42:22 AMI respectfully disagree. If it was just positive kill/death when my roommate ignores my request and pvped with my hunter while I was at work earlier this week I would have come home to more points rather than being right back at zero. It's positive kills, with void damage. It's praying your bad snipers skills don't bite you in the ads because it's the only void special you have, it's being stuck with a defender for the grenades and just being thankful you even have those. It's cursing every time someone kills you with the very weapon you covet. Frankly the guy the replied with before you was actually a useful reply because he reminded me of other void weapons that are more to my play style. I'm not acting like it's impossible, I got a tenth of the way before my roommate reset it, I'm just saying it isn't an easy quest without the proper tools and the reward should reflect that, even through the nerf.

I'd agree, but I did my thorn bounties* with a Hunter in Control with only Praedyth's Revenge and Truth, camping Heavy. Basically took about an hour.

If you look at the point system you actually can go negative. XD

I got the quest done in 3 or so hours. It's not that difficult. I had to use atheons epilogue, a crappy blue shotgun, and corrective measure for the void kills. The part about killing the guy in the phogoth strike was down with another buddy of mine when we were both 31.
