Have they come out with a definitive statement on that? Have they answered a direct question with more than the words, maybe, might and soon?

No, but why adjust so many weapons mere days before they're rendered obsolete? Xbox players will also revolt if they can't use Hawkmoon other than in normalized Crucible.

I have no idea. All you get from them are the three little words. Maybe, might and soon. You will get a thousand people saying that they heard that exotics are going to continue on. The same number tells you that the new level for existing characters is 20, then the next thousand say it's your existing level. The common denominator is that bungie hasn't given out anything but rumors and answers that could mean anything. Bungie is its own worst enemy. Give us some concrete answers and the heat level on the forums will back to a simmer by Monday. Keep it up and watch how many people finally get shoved over the "Meh" wall.

Bungie likes to talk in circles on a pre-determined script which was stamped with a big OK rather than give you concrete answers, which would probably bury them because of the sad truth. Too much hype, too little content/maintenance/not enough socializing with the community anymore because of whip-lash over something somebody said. Get over it Bungie. The internet is full of vicious attack dogs on the prowl, waiting to pounce. Get gud or gtfo. Its time to do your job an re-join your fans.
