Thorn Bounty 500 void kills impossible as hunter
Ok I have seen a trillion posts regarding the difficulty some players who are not good at PVP. Me for one am finding this really difficult to get any points on the board
First reason the bounty has fallen on my Hunter and Titans and Warlocks have an advantage that both have Void subclasses to help them achieve their kills yet Hunters don't
Second reason there seems to be so many unkillable players running round glitching and killing you before you even spot them on Radar so again feeling more deaths than kills at the moment
I love the simplicity of Destiny the ease of play and the lack of real depressing grind but this bounty is starting to become depressing 3 days into crucible and have 3/500 lol
Why can you not make it that exotic bounties can be transfered between characters it makes no sense that once you complete it you can pass the weapons to other characters
Or make it 10 points for a kill and 1 point for a death

Roll for a void shotgun and use word of crota with either truth or some other void rocket or machine gun. You will be fine without the void sub class. Just finished mine in a day from the pvp point on. Did phogoth the next day though.

Hmm, Bungie should make a PvP designed weapon easier to obtain for non-PvP players? Nah, it's an easy bounty and if you're not willing to work to earn something that makes crucible a lot easier once you've obtained it, you don't deserve it

If anything, it needs to be MORE difficult. There's far too many players running around with it, who obviously lack the skills to have earned it properly.

Its not impossible as a hunter. I completed it as a gunslinger with a void split shifter pro and a void BTRD. Didn't really take all that long either. Don't play over aggressive. Play to your weapons strengths. Always grab heavy. Don't even bother with control points. When in doubt go for the standard kill not the void kill. And don't play on maps that you know you'll get rekt on, just back out. Thorn bounty is one of the best quests/tasks in Destiny.

1 ReplyVoid shotgun.....kneel/invis hide ambush people as they run by. Void LMG....hide wait till everyone has shot there rockets then mop up. Use your best primary (non void) run from all 1v1 only use it if you can't get away and are forced to fight straight up. Hunter BD is the easiest class to get it on. Just remember you're NOT interested in a fair fight.

You have the skill, just keep grinding use the void weapons and forget about the bounty once you forget about the fear of dying and loosing points the better you'll play

I rarely play pvp and am terrible at it and did the bounty solely with a void fusion and maybe a void machine gun (even though I usually miss the heavy ammo or get killed directly after picking it up..so pretty much just fusion lol). Took about 3 to 4 hours straight though. Maybe 2 nights of that, I don't remember. I had no raid primaries at the time and wasn't comfortable with shotguns yet, so...

1 ReplyYou have a 1.0 KD all time on your Hunter, and within the last 7 days you have a 1.3 KD. How is this difficult for you?? Use a void shotgun and a void rocket launcher and you'll be fine

1 ReplyMan you only need like a .4 k/d to go positive. Just equip a void load out and cut it into chunks. If you start doing badly just take a break

Edited by Valdorakk: 8/9/2015 7:05:33 PMI did it with a hunter the first time, and I'm terrible at pvp. I had a void shotgun and a void sniper. I would use whichever suited the situation. I found that the sniper got me reliable kills with few deaths. I had an Atheons epilogue too, but the gun was terrible in crucible even before the auto debuff. I just stopped using it. Also had that VoG machine gun. That thing is accurate and has a ridiculous mag. Gets you lots of void kills if you hide until the rockets run out. Since you lose some points for dying, you should adopt a cautious approach. Use that sensor and make the enemy come to you, don't charge into the fray. Just try to get one void kill before dying and you will have that bounty licked in no time.

It's not that hard to do. The last one I got was on a Titan I got at 830 pm and by 1139 it was done except for kill Z the unwed. Hunter is is more challenging because that done have a super to help you like void walker or grenades. It can be done

Yeah you're doing really bad. I am THE worst pvp player in the world and I managed to get it in 3 days. It's hard AF bro. I used atheons epilogue and truth to get it. Knelt all the time. Like 100% of the time. Oh and get a void shotgun. They're everywhere. Lol I hope you get it before its nerfed tf man.

1 ReplyNot dying as much would help you in your quest. You have to maintain at least a .6 K/D to eventually finish the bounty which doesn't sound too tough if you think about it. Yes, the Hunters at the moment don't have a Void sub class. Would it that much? Only a smidge. The Defender Titan has a sticky Void Grenade, a punch with no range, and a Super that can't physically harm anyone. Grab a Void shotgun and if you can a Void primary, Atheons Epilogue if you're truly desperate, but Word of Crota is easily better. ToO weapons are easily the best, but you're probably not too much into PvP to have a Void one. For your Heavy pick an LMG because they'll net you more kills than a Rocket Launcher. Wait a bit for the launcher spammers to finish firing then let loose. This is all the advice I can give. Other than that, play smart and kick ass.

Used a green fusion rifle and atheons tickle stick. It sucked, but I jumped on to my little ol' www and looked up some tips. From what I read, thorn bounty literally requires a .4 kd at the minimum to make progress. I was (and still am) teh sux, but I practiced till I reached the goal of .4 kd. I ended up surpassing it and can now get around 1 lol. Practice is key man

I did my first Thorn bounty on my hunter. For at least 2 months, it seemed absolutely impossible as I'm not the best PvP player either (look at my stats, especially towards the beginning. They're atrocious). But it can be done! I got on a crucible streak and finished the bounty in 2 afternoons. The best thing to do is play defensively, and get as many void kills as you can! I think you'll also notice that you get better at crucible too, since you start to familiarize yourself with the maps and the strategies that work best. This is when you'll start to own it, and get the bounty done in no time! Good luck, fellow Guardian!

Did it easily even without word of crota or atheons epilogue. Had to use stupid blink shotgun tactic but I got it in less that 6 hours of gameplay

2 RepliesThere are no glitchers, you're just terrible at the game. I honestly shocks me how many people jump to accuse others of glitching over simply accepting that sometimes they aren't good enough to get something.
