There are no gay gamers, there are no straight gamers, there are no girl gamers, there are no guy gamers, there are no (insert ethnicity/nationality) gamers....
We are all just gamers ;)

No! We are guardians
-
You can't be a Guardian without being a gamer
-
Don't lie to me lol
-
You can't expect to fight the darkness without the appropriate training... Which can only be found in the Destiny Guardian home training simulator, accessible to gamers only.. Ever seen The Last Starfighter? That's exactly what is happening here :D
-
You lost me I was watching a video that shows how I get to become cis lord.....

No. See this would be just great to be able to do. Just throw away the VERY REAL problem many face in Gaming and in everyday life. Don't ask don't tell right. That doesn't work.
-
I disagree!!! Their are noob gamers, casual gamers, crap gamers, pro gamers, BOSS gamers, crazy gamers, stupid gamers.......................... and then there is GAMERS
-
-
Well, there are. A large issue that people get into is ignoring the differences between people instead of merely accepting them.
-
It's not don't ask don't tell... It's that we should Appreciate that the key defining characteristics of a person are not whether they are gay or bi or straight or transgendered, or where they were born, or what deity they follow etc. We should see the person as a whole and define them on that basis...
-
I'm aware. But saying things like there are no "-insert descriptor here-" gamers is the exact opposite of that. Somebody can be a gay gamer, or a girl gamer, but that's not all they are. That's where people get tripped up.
-
You missed the point... I wouldn't call myself a heterosexual gamer, that would sound preposterous... I don't have gay friends... Just friends, some of whom happen to be gay. I don't sub-group and categorise my friends by their ethnicity, beliefs or sexual orientation, you know
-
I don't have gay friends... Just friends, some of whom happen to be gay.
Seemed appropriate.
-
Like I said in my other post: you don't "need" to say you're heterosexual, because society considers that the default. Society considers you "normal", while everyone else is alienated to different degrees. But the labels? The labels are not what's to blame. It's good to be accepting, but make no mistake: your gay friends are gay. In normal conversation, yeah, you don't need to adress them as "my gay friends" XD. That would be rude. But my point is: don't negate the label, because it's part of their identity.

I don't have far to look for people like me to game with, but the determining factor of whether someone is like me or not isn't whether they are gay or straight, man or woman, young or old, it's their nature as a person. Labelling people in such limiting ways is not a positive thing. Don't accept that.. Demand to be judged by the whole of your person. The position of society is ever evolving as our thinking evolves. Gay and straight will some day be thought of as just normal variations of the human condition, by the majority of society
-
Let me guess: you're white, you're a dude, and you're heterosexual?

LOL PREACH

Edited by Wayne712: 8/7/2015 12:17:25 PMYep, though I'm not sure what you're getting at
-
What I'm getting at is that you're part of the majority. Your demographic in Destiny is the majority. You don't need to look out for other guys to feel comfortable playing with other guys like you, all you have to do is load the game and, statistically, you'll be playing with people like you in no time. But for those not in the majority, they have to actively look for each other. That's why you see people saying "hey, any other girls/gay gamers out there?" from time to time. It's easy to say "we're all gamers!" when you don't have to put any effort in finding familiar people. We don't call attention to what we are besides gamers just to feel special, we do it because we like to know we're not alone.

Thank you.

Wrong, you should put the colour back into gamers. But take the isms out of comments.

This! Except 90% of people are either too thick to admit it or have real issues with anyone slightly different from themselves!
