Why does everyone hate thorn?
I don't get it. I have seen it all over ye forums of everyone hating thorn and it is just so dumb. Some even say that you shouldn't use it and assume you have no skill if you use it. That is pathetic. If there is a gun in a game and it is good, why wouldn't I use it? Why would I ever use something worse than something else I have? And you act like it is the best gun in the game. There are plenty better and plenty counters to it. I hope you guys will be happy when update 2.0 comes out. What will you whine about then?
After getting bombarded with crap tell me something other than it being a crutch weapon and that people who use it have no skill. It's pathetic that just because you can't counter people who use you blame your deaths in it and call people out for sucking for using it please tell me something I haven't heard a million times

4 RepliesThere better guns with the same stats as thorn if not better. Hawkmoon can get one shot and many other weapns can get two shot burst kills with a head shot. And many shoot faster. So um i guess not best. I don't deny that it's a good weapon i love it. Why wouldn't u use it if it was good unless u want to play like crap, or ur too crap to get it, or u have no skill with the weapon.

Hell, if you [b][i]REALLY[/i][/b] think about it... Thorn isn't a handcannon! It's a freaking High RoF, High Impact Scout Rifle that has increased handling and mobility, which also does moderate burn damage.

5 RepliesThorn is overpowered but I refer to mine as 'the lag compensator'. I'm starting to use pulse rifles in pvp more, but when it's too laggy, gotta bring thorn out to get me lots of post mortems

It os a bit overpowered but not to the extent that people are complaining about. Personally I only think that the DoT shouldn't kill in crucible, and change nothing else. That way it is possible but still difficult to get away. Then it wouldn't affect PvE either.

1 ReplyUsually people who can't complete the bounty crap all over it because they suck. Most whiners hate weapons that kill them which is pretty much anything. They whined about Suros... Nerfed. Whined about Thorn... Merged. Whined about TLW... Nerfed. Gjallarhorn... Nerfed. Next will be Red Death. Part of the nerfing is Bungie wanting to intentionally ruin first year weapons so the up and coming crappy new ones are forced on us.

People don't hate the weapon itself. They hate how imbalanced the time-to-kill is when compared to the hundreds upon hundreds of other weapons to choose from.

Not only that, but it gets really irritating getting you health halved from across the map. I personally find the last word far more annoying as a gun, but the thorns prominence in the crucible make it seems far stronger than it is (and it is pretty strong already).
